Stratty
That is awesome. A 2 door escort is as rare as rocking-horse poo. They are still the preferred choice locally for rally cars. What engine is going into it. A Pinto or something bigger?

Need4Speed
I don't suppose you've got a BDA for it have you? First quick car I ever drove was a mk1 RS1600 - very fast compared to my Mini.

It was an absolute weapon, I'd be trying to keep it 100% Ford if it were me.

add heywood
There was a 800 bhp Mk2 Escort at Gaitbil a few years back. Just lit the tyres up everytime it came on boost. Think that was running a Cosworth YB

Homer
More pics please Really love the MkII escort, rwd, lightweight but in need of a decent power plant. My neighbour has a stripped and caged one with a red top lump in, it's very nimble but not all that quick. Black one? Absolutely insane, the acceleration on the straight is madness! What is a Cosworth YB lump?
add heywood
Black one? That's the one. I want one What is a Cosworth YB lump? It's the standard cosworth engine they put into the cosworth fords (sierra & escort). You can get them up to decent power but usually have to throw a fair bit of money at them to do it. SteamAhead
Classic motor that, good friend of mine has had his for years (we used to have much fun back and forth from work in it many years ago, but that's another story ), He was very near to buying a BDA engine for it couple of weeks ago, but decided not to as the max he would get out of it is around the 220bhp mark (and very empty pockets for it ). He's now bought a ST170 to go in (with a few little mods ) Only cost him £220 with 35,000 on the engine. So looking forward to seeing this on the strip No electronics helping out with this kind of motor, feel it through ya arse boy
