Some nice conrods

Met up with a chap from Hungary yestererday, who had a set of brand new Mugen titanium rods and a new cylinder sleeve for my MF-308 engine that's being rebuilt. These parts are now really hard to get. I have found valve springs and some valves in Japan, albeit the heads need modifying to fit them, gaskets in Lincolnshire, rods and sleeves in Hungary, and more valves and bearings in Switzerland. It's been a nightmare! As it's almost a shame to hide them away, I took a few pics. Safe to 10,000 RPM and VERY light. The black coating on the sides of the crank pin bore is to stop Ti galling against steel, as it tends to do. For the same reason they use nuts and bolts rather than conventional bolts for the big end fasteners.

Nice. So the guy flew all the way over to hand deliver them? Don't they have fed ex in Hungary ;)

For the price he should have delivered them especially :) He's actually the Avon (Cooper) race tyre distributor for Hungary and was over at Avon (Coopers) in Bristol for a meeting, so he fetched them with him :p
