TLicense
Not pointing to anyone in particular, but does anyone else find themselves thinking "My God, how are you still alive, when it appears you don't have enough brain cells to breath and blink at the same time?". I seem to most days with the vast majority of people I happen upon. I don't know if it's because a lot of things in my life are pretty specialised and focused whereas other people may know a little about a much wider range of subjects maybe? Perhaps I've just had one of those weeks?

Branners
It has to be said, there must be an equal number of people above the average as there are below the average. However I do get the feeling that a complete lack of intelligence in the younger generation means they dont fully understand the laws of average and continually strive to find themselves below it, this bringing the average down further and perpetuating the levels of stupidity further as they strive to achieve their goal. Or for the thick people, yes people do generally seem stupider now than ever before. I blame Facebook and Twatter.
Rob
I often feel like this, and have started to think I understand why politicians think they can get away with the tricks and scams they pull. If they think the vast majority of the public are thick and/or obsessed with celebrity, they have more temptation to try and pull something. But anyway, just today, I went for an opthalmolgy appointment at the hospital and walked up to the Dept reception desk and the lady on the desk asked me "Are you here for an appointment?" Yes of course I am, I don't just wander into hospitals, I'm not obsessed by spirit gel handwash or faded brown lino.

Gentlemen, I think you mean the median instead of the average. But yes, I think the population is being dumbed down somewhat. The instant but short-lived gratification of Facebook/Twitter, and people aspiring to be "a celebrity" (whatever that means) all play their part. It's very easy for the media to control what people think about things. People would rather be like some moron on TV than aim to be intelligent I think. Their loss mainly, but it does make me sad to see it happening. What was it David Cameron said? "Too many tweets make a tw@t."
peter richards
come and live in wales that average will be considerably higher . was in the drive through at KFC , this tit in a van in front making his order . orders a meal of some sort after taking ages to decide , the guy asks is there anything else sir , to which he replies "yeh whats for pudding ". at this stage me and the misses are fucking howling , what a thick cxxx .lol
Charlotte
Definitely not a new thing. A lady who has just started at our place is so dense. She literally can't pick anything up. She can't even file alphabetically.

Scott
Einsteins riddle is a good modern day test. I don't know how much truth there is in the the story of the riddle but it reckoned that less than 2% of the population would be able to solve it without help. Of course that was then and this is now so i dare say the % has increased but i still see it as a good marker. People who google always stand out on this forum. Everytime someone posts up a quiz or a riddle, etc, the answers seem to come out of the blue from members who show no prior problem solving capability. FWIW i did the riddle when i was 14 and t'interweb didn't even have any porn, let alone riddle solutions. I have always enjoyed challenging mind puzzles though. GreaseMonkey
Or for the thick people, yes people do generally seem stupider now than ever before. I blame Facebook and Twatter. There are moments sometimes I want to bang my head against a wall thinking "How did this person wake up, let alone get out of bed?". Then I just shake my head in disbelief walking away slowly, avoiding eye contact. I get the impression these days from younger/middle aged people it seems to be cool, to be ignorant/ stupid or both. IMO.

Its really good and racks the brain for a fair bit of time considering. Its not like the picarats puzzles worth the puny 100 or so Between that and the 16x16 sudoku puzzles my nightshift was sorted. michael
Have you not tried Einsteins Riddle? I find myself struggling to devote my brain time to such things these days, it's basically just rotting away while I digest gossip and watch soap operas. It seems happy enough, less headaches anyway. Scott
I find myself struggling to devote my brain time to such things these days, it's basically just rotting away while I digest gossip and watch soap operas. It seems happy enough, less headaches anyway. Thats what I keep trying to avoid. As I get older I feel I am fighting a losing battle though. It was only last week I said to my Wife I could feel my brain getting slower. Its hard to explain but i feel as I don't use it as much as I would like to I am losing some sharpness. To problem solve now I feel I have to get my brain into the mood first before even thinking about beginning. Einsteins Riddle will take approx 15-30mins btw. Before I left if you could not grasp spelling & grammar you where a retard, and the blame was pinned on allowing these retards to breed. Oh no!!! The double standards have struck again?
