Looks like I have bought a scooter

I have been looking for a cheap run around for some time and have happened upon a scooter. It is a Piaggio NRG that has been used as a rental. It comes with 12 months warranty (and this from the rental place that is next door to the bar) and will cost me 600.00 euro and best of all....it is orange! :D

Now, I would love to tell you more but I know diddly squat about scooters - in fact, maybe you lot can advise me before I part with my shekels. :)

I know that you live in Greece and how dangerous scooters are on the roads over there.

You must be nuts! Kudos on the colour choice though ;) :D

The scooters per se are not dangerous - it is the Brit tourists driving that you have to watch out for! :D

Are you going to be wearing the pink latex suit when riding it?

I know nothing about them either but we wanna see a pic of you on it if you do get it Col :D

Definitely! I am going to look at it tomorrow but for the money, it seems a good buy and so I will probably end up driving it around for the next 2 weeks.

The best way to get a scooter to go faster is to loose weight :D

Well, I have lost about 2.5 stone over the summer so thats a start. Mind you, seeing as I was a very fat bastard before, I am now only a fat bastard! :D

Well, I haven't bought it yet as I didn't get a chance to view it properly but had a bit of a shocking day anyway.

The place selling the scooter is situated next to the bar where I work and so I told him yesterday that I would pop in and have a look some time in the afternoon. I turned up at about 14.00 and found that he was out and so I had a mooch about to see if the scooter was around.

I finally saw what looked to be an orange scooter parked up with other older bikes in the under storage area beneath the main building and decided to have a look. After trying to manoeuvre around the parked up bikes I gave up and went home and decided to pop along later in the afternoon.

At about 17.00 I went to work and saw the shop owner outside his place and went to have a chat. He invited me to have a quick look at the bike and stopped outside the basement area and pointed in. I went to walk in and he yelled at me to stop as they had a snake set up residence in there and had not got rid of it yet!

So, earlier in the day, I had been milling about in the semi darkness of a basement area that currently housed a snake :faint:

For those who want to know about the latest scooter news - hello, anyone? Anyone at all? :p

I am still to buy a scooter but have now narrowed it down to a Piaggio NRG MC3 and a Kymco ZX50 Super Fever. These are priced at 500 euro with a possible margin for chipping the guy down some more - so better value all round.

I had initially favoured the Piaggio but I am now erring towards the Kymco as it has lower miles and is in better general condition.

If anyone has any thoughts on either of these then I would welcome your input.
