suprabrown
Hi Chaps, does anyone know of any companies that can modify the vvti (with tiptronic) ECU properly? By that I mean I would like the software changing if possible to remove the speed limiter. I know I'm probably looking at someone in japan or similar. I have the TRL speed delimiter fitted, only problem is after say 112ish the speed signal is capped and the gearbox won't change up properly cus it thinks it's still doing 112ish If anyone knows of any tuning companies that may be able to do this please...please...please let me know. cheers markb
Alex
I thought the TRL one could do it now? Have you spoken to Pete about it?
Nodalmighty
We are working with Link and Gems for a full VVTi TipTronic ECU solution. AEM can't be arsed so Gems approched us to do the development for it. We should have Link G3 XLEM VVTi ECU's for Manual boxes in the very near future as a stop gap. Nod.
JustGav
Oooooh.. A full replacement ECU for the VVti...now that could be interesting...... I'd be interested to hear how this goes... Gav
suprabrown
Hi Nod, Are you looking at the tiptronic gearbox version as well? I'm having problems with the gearbox function after the ECU has been de-limited (top speed wise). Do you need a test car? cheers markb
JustGav
Hmmm, I'll have to see how my unit performs in my tiptronic VVTi... not had a chance to test it yet... Gav
Guest Terry S
We offer a PnP ecu uprgrade for the VVTi, but they arent cheap

I'm having problems with the gearbox function after the ECU has been de-limited (top speed wise). Do you need a test car? cheers markb Yes, the TipTronic, TBW and VVTi control are top of the development aggenda. We have a test car, Peter drives a G300 VVTi Aristo Vetex tiptronic. Our P'n'P solutions will be around the £1200 - £1300 + VAT mark and will be comprehensive in their control system (i.e RL style traction and F1 style launch control, ALS and proper progressive NOS control at no extra charge, Oh! and onboard Wide Band Lambda control too but you need to buy the sensor ). It also has a 1/4 VGA blue diamond screen you can mount onto a Momo Style steering wheel and access the boost settings, map selector, traction control and general onboard data logging and ecu control functions for about £400- £500 extra. We plan to build this screen into a Supra dial as on option on our Stainless Dial kits too in the near future. I have a Beta G3 XLEM coming in for my MK3 Supra to replace the older XLEM it runs at the moment. Should be a hoot. We also have some Decent Quality 4 Channel CDI units for about £370 so you can now enjoy high joule yeild CDI ignition that lasts more than 2 weeks before dying (unless you already have an Autronic unit in which case "that also a good choice" ). Jake
I think most of us VVTi guys just want a DSC/TSD that works on our cars rather than a complete ECU upgrade. Any chance of a VVTi compatible DSC, Nod? Please. Pretty please

Pretty please Pete has done some work on it for his Lexus and seems to have a stable solution but just hasn't had time to finalise this into a finished product. Nod. Guest Terry S
me to, but knowing what I do about the VVTi ( I have a proper one Nod ) I wouldnt hold your breathe.
suprabrown
The problem with using a DSC in the VVti tiptronic is that when you go above 120ish the gearbox won't change gear if you have your foot down. The problem is that the DSC caps the speed signal, so the gearbox thibks the car is still doing 112ish Of course now you are red lining and going no where unless you lift off Nod, I would be very interested in your units, any idea when they are likly to be available? cheers markb
