jimojameso
The last few weeks I have been driving the supe to work everyday and have really enjoyed it. Absolutely love driving that car. As the weathers been crap i have left the supe in the garage this week and have been driving a Golf GTI Mk2 16V that i have recently been restoring. Now i don't know what it is but in the supra everyone on the road seems to give me a lot of respect, let me pull out, go first, etc. In the golf its still a nippy little car, not in the same league as the supra of course but people keep trying to race me, cut me up, pull out in front of me, etc. I tend to pootle to work mostly in both these cars as i drive a long way but I want the respect in the golf i get in the supe. Do you guys get the same thing or is just me?
bradleyh_15
you should drive the mercedes behind the golf to work every now and then! but yes I know where you are coming from!

James
I used to have a mk5 Golf that was basically (visually) a slammed to the ground Edition 30 with an R32 rear end and Merc CL600 wheels. I got lots of people doing exactly as you say - driving like idiots round it/at it. Total pain! Now that I have the Supe - don't get anything at all! stevie_b
Nice looking Golf. Probably a classic in its own right, if not now then soon. I think road respect is lacking in general, people forget what they were taught on their driving lessons. Indicating is a dying art. Compulsory re-test every 10 years! Miguel
People keep trying to race me, cut me up, pull out in front of me, etc. That pretty much sums up how everyone drives down this way no matter what car you are in. And I'm in agreement with Steve, the human race must have developed telepathy over the past couple of years as nobody seem to use their indicators anymore:blink: Something which was a skill preserved for BMW owners:d

Miguel
May I ask who and where you bought the car from? The car looks very familiar, so much so that I think they may be my old wheels:)
jimojameso
It was my neighbours car. The original wheels were stolen so my other neighbour lawrence bought those wheels as he got fed up with seeing it sitting on bricks right outside his house!! I have obviously managed to get some original wheels for it tho now

icemanv6
Most of the time on motorways, people always flash me to let me in the lane if I'm indicating rather then going by first, let me pull out a lot much like you said.. And most people leave plenty of room when following behind me also. On the backroads I find my fuel economy getting worse and wose as I feel I have to get away from idiots behind me, keeping getting corsa's and vectra' primarily getting right up my arse, I was doing 40 in a 40 area, and the vectra owner feeled the need to over-take me for some bizarre reason and then only do about 45mph in front of me... Oh, and a corsa nearly went into the back of me on Monday as I braked hard as the traffic lights went to red, I had to go slightly under them as if I braked any harder he was going to be in the back of my car, he was smoking a cigarette, windows down music blaring, as close as he could get to my car. Always driving 1 metre behind my car, I've pulled over at time's just so they piss off and let them pass me, i'm sure it's only a matter of time till one of them goes into the back of me I really am. Benyon
I have drove my girlfriends saxo a few times and hate the way people cut me up and just dont give a fuck about me, Then when I drive the supra it seems most of the time I own the road, people let me go first, move out of my way on motorways ect. Its so noticeable how people act depending on the size of a car.
