I didn't think it lasted long enough personally (Oblivion on the other hand, took me forever!), there's still a few quests I didn't do though.

Will start again once I get the GOTY edition as a bad guy :)

Are you gonna blow up Megaton City?? If you do let me know what happens, always wanted to know how that panned out. I was greedy and wanted my own house there so chose to disarm it lol.

Lol if you open up the map you can "quick teliport" to any place you've already been before ie Vault 112. Took me ages to realise that. When i need to go to a new place, i teliport to the nearest location ive been too then walk from there. Its much easier but it does mean sometimes you miss out on "instances" (random quests proposed to you by ppl you meet while walking about the map) but there is a shit load of quests on that game anyway, something like 40 hours worth, to keep you occupied either way.

LOL! Yeah i did know, i just prefer to wander around (within reason) but i think i've dam near killed all the non renewable mutants and raiders now:innocent:

My biggest problem is hacking the various computer terminals:( any tips?

Oh! and i blew up megaton as the populace just pissed me off.

If there is computer terminal, there will most certainly some kind of doors or safe activated by this. You either develop lockpick perk and try to get there messing with doors or safe or you develop science perk and hack onto terminals.

Much better idea was to disarm bomb as you can get fancy place to live and to collect your pipboy statues :p Also lady in warehouse usually have quite a lot of cash, so you can sell your lot there.

Hmm i had problems with these aswell, i read somewhere a while ago that the higher your Science level, the fewer choices you have to choose from. I never got round to trying out the theory. You need a high science level to hack the harder terminals anyway so maybe levelling up Science is a good way to go.

I just found this aswell Tricky, hope it helps.

If you click on any brackets facing each other in the same line, such as (), {} or , you have a chance of either regaining all failed tries, or removing a dud password. You can also click brackets containing a few special characters, +> and {,} for example.

Just incase you didnt know (you prob do :p) you can backout after 3 tries and it resets the password and you get all your tries again.

*Just found this aswell, I'm offshore so i cant try it out, let me know if it works

Hope this helps

I started playing farcry2 and got so disheartened with it I gave up. Homer told me to try fallout3 and give it 4 hours of game play to get used to it. I did and lost hours of my life, made it all the way to the end, visited EVERY SINGLE location and killed everything I could find.

I will now have to get GOTY for Christmas and play that to the same level.

I do love the idea of that. Was it hard playing that method tho Branners?

I got the 'show all locations' thing at the end instead of the usual 'kill and kill again' power up. So I just wandered round all the locations. Im sure there are some tasks I have not done but I can go back to those. I found the alien though and tried to drag the body back to my house, but got bored doing that.

you are using the auto-aim feature arent you? I did the first 8 hours not knowing it was there and trying to shoot things straight up. Found the auto-aim and it became a breeze.

HAHA i did the exact same thing. It doesn't explain VATS very well at the start (if you fight the bullies) so played it AGES before i realised i could use it. Its much easier with it. Has anyone tried out the "terminal cracker" thing i posted earlier on this thread yet? I'm offshore at the minute so i cant try it for myself, want to know if it works or not. Cant wait to get home now and open my GOTY version. I'm the same as you Branners, i like to get 100% on a game whenever i can, spec a game as good as this.

You wont regret it. Ummm...I also just discovered the benefits of VATS....after playing for 31 hours!. I have taken some time out and decided to play the game itself for a while rather than mindless raiding. I managed to stumble accross my dad on one of my dungeon crawls and he has just gassed himself which is unfortunate and now I am running away getting cut down by machine gun fire :(

Lol thats the only bad thing with the "Free Roam" ability of the game, it makes it possible to skip chapters of the story line by mistake if you explore somewhere you shouldnt be doing until later.

Did have a look last night and a new fallout game has been announced

http://uk.pc.gamespy.com/articles/974/974290p1.html

During a recent press event held in London, England, Bethesda has unveiled plans for the latest game in its Fallout series. Called Fallout: New Vegas, representatives of the company told press that this new title is not a sequel to last year's game of the year winner Fallout 3, nor is it a simple expansion.

Fallout: New Vegas is being developed by Obsidian Entertainment who were the developers of the original Fallout game (then known as Black Isle Studios.) Details surrounding the game remain extremely limited at this point, and it is not yet known if Fallout: New Vegas will use the same engine as Fallout 3. It is however known that the release date for the game will be sometime in 2010.

We're fully expecting to get more information at the E3 2009 show in Los Angeles.

Looks good :) wasted 6 hours on fallout 3 today waiting for the grand prix :)

Started playing this yesterday and ended up being on it for over 4 hours...(was going to say three but I've been reliably informed it was four....whoops :innocent:)

Not really had the opportunity to do much shooting etc other than escaping from the vault, though. Does it get a bit more involving? Like, soon? :D

Your journey is just beginning! Find megaton near vault 101 and then get some quests going :)

it is more of a thinker than rsistance/halo though but there are light and heavy action periods
