ClaireRZ-S
Right guys i'm trying to lose a stone in the next few weeks and just basically get fit and tone up. I am doing this weight loss programme that starts next monday and your not allowed any alcohol, rubbish food and have to drink plenty of water and go to the gym 3 times a week. I also go to the fitness classes every week so im not too bad at the fitness lark . I don't eat that much rubbish food i dont think , is there anyone that can tell me what foods i should be definitely staying away from? Scott
Just have lots of sex, job done. Stay away from fat, sugar and have minimal carbs. Fresh grilled chicken, fish and the odd bit of red meat is always good along with plenty of veg. Drink lots of water with nothing added but in the last day or 2 calm down on the water as you will retain a lot of it.
Stonkin
Well the way not to do it is to starve yourself like many people seem to think. Cut simple carbs from your diet, complex carbs in moderation are fine. Eat protein enriched food such as steak, grilled chicken, fish etc If you do eat carbs dont eat them to late at night. Get at least 8 glasses of water in you a day, green tea is also good to boost your metabolism. Cut any snacks out. And sleep, get at least 8 hours a night, rest goes a long way especially if you will be training as well ps, and as above, lots of sex
ClaireRZ-S
i do love carbs like pasta or Potatoes always have to have those but i've cut out eating white bread and white rice always brown . I aint a great meat eater , i like chicken but i dont like steak, lamb , bacon and i hate fish. I havent eaten it in years i hate fish with bones. Yeah i'm drinking about 2 litres of water a day so its not too bad and trying to have fruit when i snack.
martini
What Scott and Stonkin have said. Fewer carbs will help a lot; though it's quite difficult to have a diet that is carb free.

stevie_b
It tends to be more of a problem for blokes than ladies, but don't forget portion control too. Buy some smaller plates if you like loading up your plate with food.

Matt H
Just count the calories on everything you eat. If it's high in carbs or sugars then the calories tend to be higher. It's what I do and works for me If you go on to a calorie counting website and key in your info they will tell you your max calorie intake per day. Aim to loose no more than 20% of your calorie intake per day. Tot everything up and eat what you like but try and maintain a varied healthy diet to get all the nutrients you need. A yoghurt and apple in the morning is a good start to the day. Oh and do loads of exercise. Cardio, cardio cardio. Don't bother lifting weights if your goal is weight loss, just concentrate on loosing the flab then if need be do some toning but It's minimal benifit in my opinion. DODGYDODDS
One word ''clenbuterol'' But on a serious note, stay away from processed food, take extra care to avoid MSG- MONO SODIUM GLUTAMATE, aspartame ( in most sugar free alternatives), limit you e number intake, this will help massively. Other things like avoiding lots of carbs in the evening, getting good sleep, drinking plenty of water, and having a balanced breakfast,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and maybe (if you have time ) up your gym to 4 times a week

Stonkin
If you can Claire, start boxing as a form of cardio. It will help massively with weight loss and toning. You dont need to go out fighting But if there is a bag at your gym, get someone qualified to give you some basic advice on using it.

Well the fitness classes i go to are called body combat and body attack. The body combat is loads of punches and kicks.

I'd recommend huss because it's only got a single big bone.

Stevo
Oh and do loads of exercise. Cardio, cardio cardio. Don't bother lifting weights if your goal is weight loss, just concentrate on loosing the flab then if need be do some toning but It's minimal benifit in my opinion. Lifting weights will help build lean muscle mass, which in turn will keep your body's metabolism raised for longer and thus burn more calories (even when not exercising). Your body needs to work and expend energy to support muscle mass, so building more is beneficial. A combination of weights and cardio is actually the best way to go. Obviously you don't need to get carried away - just 12 reps or so of decent weights, doing a full body body workout 3 times a week would be great. Workouts should only be 40-50 mins long but keep them intense. Also, eat 4-6 small meals spread throughout the day. This is also important in keeping your metabolism raised at a time when your consuming fewer calories. Your body's typical reaction would be to react by slowing down your metabolism to hang onto the energy stores it has!
Matt H
do i need to use a trampoline? Would help no end with your exercise as you would enjoy it immensely so it wouldn't be a hardship Just don't get really good at it, as then it becomes ridiculously dangerous! Totally don't agree with you; if you're doing light weights and loads of reps your not going to be building much muscle if any. You burn far more calories swimming, boxing and running etc and you'll build the same amount of muscle from that as you would just lifting weights, so a futile measure when you can simply do the whole shebang in one go; especially when the aim is to lose a stone fast

Don't starve yourself as your body will react badly to it.

Hence for e.g boxers have a dedicated weight regime, as do most other athletes, cardio actually infringes on muscle building.
