scotty71
here's mine... slightly different as I go with projectors rather than TVs... http://www.tomshosting.co.uk/images/Entsys.JPG Very nice Scott M,pot ,Willson and nice loft projector tomssupra:d I have a Panasonic projector but it is confined to the loft in its box since I moved three odd years ago. There is no room where we live now for an 8ft x 4 1/2ft screen:( I will resurect it one day if we move, it still has over three quarters of the bulb life left:d Scotty
tomgeer
The best TV in our gaff is a 30 inch (I think....) CRT set one of the Num brothers gave me. I am so unworthy I can think of nothing with less priority in 2010 than buying some monster flat screen thing to nail on the wall Is it an age thing? Anyone else just not interested in upgrading TV's on an almost annual basis? There's Chris sugar coating it again , why don't you ever just tell it like it is
Willson
Are you sure about the 8' BTW? The door will be just under 6'6" in height which looks way bigger than the length of the screen. Looks to be just over 3' high, call it 3.5' (going by the height of the door in comparison to the screen). That would give a 7' screen? What's a foot between friends though Looks fantastic regardless. Impressive photo analysing, and you are absolutely right! I just measured it, and its 84" / 7 foot Not sure where I got the other figures from...

Chris Wilson
Would it not be cheaper and easier to just camp out under the seats in the Odeon cinema? I am (seriously) amazed by these mega efforts to bring the local cinema into your living rooms, I am finding it hard to keep even my paperbacks in an orderly fashion Sadly I am one of the oldies that recalls the national anthem, then watching the dot disappear on a CRT TV, rather than setting the alarm in the hope the "cinema" is still there in the morning, or scanning the `net to see what bigger plasma screen the vendors of such things have to offer. Joking apart, how big can these things get? A double garage was de rigeur a bit ago, nowadays a home cinema seems to have overtaken them on the "must have" list. Willson
Picture quality looks fantastic in the... well... picture lol. What is it like IRL? Absolutely awesome. Its "only" 720p, but I'm literally amazed everytime I turn it on. Chris the actual projectors, don't have to cost that much (mine was £450 second hand). I have a dream of an entire wall covered in LCD that you can choose "42 inch tv in the middle please" - or now I want to watch a film "10 foot screen please". And, for example, you can have digital photographs on display, just have your current choice of wallpaper when you're not watching tv, whatever you can think of really. Not sure thats every going to be realistic... I love the idea though!
tomssupra
Looks very nice. Is that your lounge? Do you not use a TV at all? It's in my bedroom - i've got all video sources linked to a HDMI splitter which goes straight to the Projector (1080p) and converted to DVI for 3 monitors around the room... Not sure thats every going to be realistic... I love the idea though! That is actually a lot easier than you realize I've almost finished a prototype design for something which does exactly that. The only catch at the moment is that it requires 4 projectors do it.
deathmonkey
http://photos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v645/171/49/552569711/n552569711_1096312_7379.jpg From the cinema I built at the parents house before I moved out, now I only have a 42" plasma Haha I have a Full HD 40" Samsung LCD, Denon AVR-1910 AV Receiver, PS3, Wii, Archos 5, Sky+ HD and some pathetic Acousic Solution speakers that I bought years ago, when I didn't have a clue about Home Cinema. Also got 2 Pioneer DVD players (don't ask!) which I'll be binning or giving away for free on here at some point. Looking to buy some Mission M33 Home Cinema speakers or the Q Acoustic 2000's in a month or 2. Pretty good mid-range set-up - but it's a bit wasted on me as I live in the smallest room at the moment now I don't have my own place anymore. So I'll skip on a pic for now as it's a mess. Hopefully get a new place end of Feb/March though and I'll post a pic up then. Some nice set-ups peeps.
