Woke up this morning to find my van doors open both back and side slider, All my tools have been taken!!! Plus doors have been damaged to gain entry. This is the 3rd time it's been broken into now, the last 2 times the alarm went of and they left empty handed, This time it didn't go of!

Theiving Basta**s, Police soco came round but couldn't get any prints from the van, I was one of 5 van's done over last night in Ipswich.

I don't hold out much hope of ever seeing them again, I had over 3 grands worth of tools stolen from the old van about 2 years ago. Never to be seen again.

I did go round the boot sales last time in a hope of finding them, but there are so many it's like a needle in a hay sack. I would love to catch whoever was responsible.

You should get one of those signs that says there are no tools in the van, that'll trick them!

On a more serious note sorry to hear this, time for CCTV and bigger locks when you get replacement tools maybe? Did the police mention "Smar$#@!er" or anything like that?

Im going to get one of those Kryptonite locks that come in 2 parts and bolt through the doors, then a round padlock goes over the top to secure them together.

As for your link Michael it doesn't appear to open, And I don't know what smar$#@!er.com means.

My rear doors are bolted from the inside and I made my own lock for the sliding door, it again locks from the inside.

I have a cable going through the bulkhead to the cab so you just have to pull it for it to open, it's disguised so it's not recognisable at all. ;)

If it's happened a few times then you need to look at other security options.

I've seen a brilliant alarm system which is bascially a smoke machine,

once they get into the van it sets off the smoke machine which will get them running!

What Michael has posted is bascially you water tags all the tools so then its easier to return back to you if found (as they do sometimes get found in sting operations).
