Syed Shah
NOS would be a much safer option on an NA than a TT, as there would be no overboost problems.
ScottPawsey
Hmmm very tempting out of interest what do you think of your de-cat pipe and hiper combo and is the hiper that load??
ScottPawsey
err I think I mean loud?
Syed Shah
Thats on the TT, the NA still has a stock exhaust. The decat and ehaust is great, loads more power and response, want to do it to the NA as well.
ScottPawsey
Whats better than having a supra??..... Having two! flash g*t. I think I'll have to get a De-cat first and go from there
Syed Shah
Lol, cheers! Thats what I did, got the decat, then the exhaust a couple of months later. The decat is noticable, but is still hampered by the restrictive stock exhaust, and vice versa, so for best results do both.

efc
Syed - as someone with a NA and a TT, how does acceleration compare? I find my NA is a bit crap in 1st but 2nd absolutely boots past 5000 revs.
Steve W
quote from Syed:- I've taken the NA upto about 140mph indicated, still going but it is quite slow after 120mph. For comparsion, a TT accelerates at about the same pace as the NA does at 120mph, at bout 145mphish (quite a bit past 150mph on a 6sp). efc
Supra Pilot
1/4 14.82 / top speed 144mph

Steve W
I can feel a friendly-type 'gaunlet' being wielded about here lads ! ! I'll have to get me' Lead Boots out and get 'meself one of them little tickets ! ? ! [but, I'm only showin' it if it's at least 1mph/.1secs better ! !] As I said to Dom', at least if I'm goin' in a straight line I shouldn't be able to throw it through any 'fences' Fat S. (seriously, I've always fancied a go up a 'strip'.... never even done it on me' bikes ? ?)
Matt Harwood
Bloody 'el Dom, I'm impressed!

In reality, upto about 80ish, there is not really much in it in the high rpms, after that the TT leaves the NA further and further behind, and past 120mph, it makes it look silly. Guest Rays the roof
Had a leisurly drive back from the Bristol Meet last night.... Couple of girls pulled up at garage in service station, came over and said they had never seen anything shoot past them so quickly on the motorway...... The look on their faces when I showed them the pic on my phone!!!!!! Not bad for a stock NA with normal unleaded me thinks!!!!!

Guest Dave_Refault
Originally posted by Rob Ooh I dunno, I could never stay with the TT's on our early morning Camber Sands runs, they just used to disappear up the road, and these were country lanes. 250horses
My 5 speed manual NA is a rocket ship to 120mph, then slower progress to 140 mph Accelerates about the same as an auto TT upto 100 mph. Then at 110+ the TT will pull away. My NA will out run most cars once @ 100 mph. Kill List: Sierra Cosworth Audi S3 Audi TT turbo Escort Cosworth MR2 Turbo Calibra V6 Most effective mod was the de-cat, and the second hand de-cat pipe only cost £50 - 10 mins to fit 5 speed box critisism. 2nd gear max 60 mph at red line, 3rd gear at 50 mph is only 4000rpm. Car takes off at 5000 rpm so at 55 mph you cant go into second and third is revving to low. Solution: Buy and fit a 6 speed box......circa £2500 - £4000 (75mph in2nd) :p :p Dont overtake at 50-55 mph. Wait till 60 mph , then go into 3rd :D
