Guest alib
i ave a uk96 tt, the active front spoiler has a mind of it's own. somtimes it worls as it should and the green light is illumintated, other times i start the engine and start to move very slowly and i can hear the active spoiler trying to work and the green light flashes and what sounds like a relay clicks by the active spoiler button then the red warning light o nthe dash comes on, i've had this happen at a range of speeds but most commonly just after i start it. if i turn the 'spoiler off' the warning light goes out. the spoiler does drop manually if i press the button with the engine off. any ideas?? Guest Garfy
Hi, the first thing I would check is the limit switch's on the motor, these can be checked via the 5 pin grey plug under the drivers side headlight, there are two large pins which are the suplies for the motor itself, and 3 smaller pins which are the limit switches, the middle of them is the common, and the other two are the switch, with the spoiler in the up position you should get continuity between the middle pin (common) and one of the outer pins, with the spoiler in the down position you should get continuity between the middle pin and the other outer pin. If thats what you are getting then the limit switches are fine, and I would say the problem is something to do with the spoiler ecu.
