Kev_A
As above, the top radiator stays/brackets, I'm wanting to remove them and paint them, I know they're obviously there for a reason but is it ok to use the car with them off? JustGav
Probably not a good idea as you will then rely on the hose to prop it up, and that has a habit of getting saggy and hitting the blades. Why not paint them tonight, let them dry overnight and put them back on... patience glasshopper
Kev_A
I don't think they hold it "up" mate, they look like they hold it "down"...

JustGav
I don't think they hold it "up" mate, they look like they hold it "down"... Figure of speech... They hold it 'in place' without them the pressure of holding the radiator forward towards the slam panel is then transferred to the top water hose which isn't very rigid. Better? Kev_A
Better Sending a couple of bits to my office for a customer to be chromed as we can't match the finish on site, I asked if they could have anything done for me while they were there, they siad as long as it's small as we don't want a big bill, so I suggested the radiator stays which they agreed to, score Looks like I may need to keep the car off the road while they're away though
Chris Wilson
Two bits of circa 3 or 4 mm plywood cut with an oversize hole for the rad "peg" and a 6 mm hole for the bolt to the body should do nicely.
