Pig
If the answer is yes, can work cant claim the VAT back? Bearing in mind its for work, is it still beneficial?
Abz
I thought Duty free was VAT free? Lately I have noticed duty free stuff have been expensive, though it could the countries I went to. If its brought from a UK place then you can claim the 15%\17.5% Tax back if its for work.
Pixelfill
Last time I was in Heathrow airport I saw a sign saying that you could claim the VAT back. I seem to remember there was a big fuss in the EU about duty free, and now Duty Free is just discounted by the amount of VAT, rather than actually being duty free. So you can then claim the VAT back off the discounted price. However it's still not exactly cheap. HTH Mike
imi
I have never really found Duty Free that price competitive regardless of whether you claim the VAT back or not.
The Restorer
Stuff with fixed prices everywhere like iPods will be cheaper in duty free. Camera's you may be able to check on-line before you go. Work can claim the VAT back too.
