Pig
Good question. Are you going to run a swirl pot J? What bhp you going for?
JamieP
Good question. Are you going to run a swirl pot J? What bhp you going for? I dont want to run and external pump and swirl pot setup due to the noise they make. As much bhp as the turbo and fuel will allow, 700 would be nice. Kirk
how big are the bosch pumps? bigger than the densos? id personaly go with twin pumps myself.. You can also buy a triple pump hanger from MVP which are SUPPOSE to be a drop in part so you can run up to 3 pumps intank
RobSheffield
I may end up with twin externals, but take steps to isolate the noise

Pig
It wouldnt suprise me if 1 was fine. Would it not be worth finding out at mapping stage? Failing that, what do the yanks do? would it not be worth shipping something over?

Failing that, what do the yanks do? would it not be worth shipping something over? If i come to mapping and i dont have enough fuel again im gonna be mighty pi$$ed with myself, its a day wasted for myself and Ryan for the sake of a bit of research. Most the yanks run twin/tripple intank walbros from what ive seen.
hodge
Id like to see them, didnt think that was possible but glad it is:) Im sure andrew runs 2 bosch 044s in his top secret evolution supra. Im sure I read that somewhere.
Pig
Why would they run tripple walbro's when you could run twin bosch? Is there a bigger one avaliable than the bosch?

JamieP
Just bought a PHR tripple pump hanger from Paul so dont need to worry about the bosch thing now, cheers.
rob wild
Why not run a built fuel system from PHR or Boostlogic? Michel did mine which is:- -8an lines Fuel cell modification 2 x Walbro fuel pump Aeromotive FPR Aeromotive -10 high pressure filter Relays Boost Logic fuel rail 880cc injectors Custom Injector clips Fuel rail connectors / fittings -8an pertek fuel lines 19 meters Ryan said when mapping it that there was loads and loads of head room with my little T61. I might be wrong but I'm sure he said it was only running 60% Duty cycle at 1.4bar. Although the twin pumps are quite noisy.

Chris Wilson
I am expecting a single swirl pot fed 044 to support my 600 BHP Skyline engine, but won't be 100% surprised if it's getting marginal. Talk of "how much BHP" is pretty pointless, flow is flow, and fuel consumption is fuel consumption. You can have 2 different engines making a genuine 600 BHP, but their fuel demands can differ wildly. Cams, mapping, BMEP basically. Some engine make 600 BHP far more efficiently than others! Making sure the big Bosch pumps don't suffer with voltage drop is very important to get the best from them, they have hefty current draw. Wez
How about bumping up the fuel pump voltage, I havent been able to find any info on how the 044 flows at 18v. MSD, Aeromotive and Boost-A-Pump all do controllers to increase fuel pump voltage. Bosch 044 Fuel Pump Specs: Bosch Part Number: 0 580 254 044 Minimum Current: 12 Volts Operating Pressure: 72.5 PSI (5 Bar) Minimum Flow @ Outlet: 80 GPH (300 LPH) Fuel Pump Location: In-Line High Temperature Reduction: 8 GPH (30 LPH) Weight: 1030 Grams (2.27 Pounds) Fuel Pump Connections: Inlet: M18 x 1.5 Outlet: M12 x 1.5 Electrical: Positive M6 / Negative M5 Edited October 2, 2009 by Wez (see edit history)
