Ian C
My money is on overfuelling - have you checked the voltage at the diag port when warm idling? indeed If you water temp sensor wasn't working right, the car would be on cold start all the time. Fuel usage would be atrocious and once the engine warmed up it'd behave exactly as described. The sensor is fairly solid state though, I'd be inclined to double check the plug, contacts, and wiring for old age and infirmity - might stop a sudden reoccurence in the future. -Ian
Guest Luigi
I'll be noting all this for future idle problems. /vbb/images/smilies/bbcode_grin.gif
rg500
Hi there Carlos, Have you thought it could be the camshaft sensor, My Father in law had a problem with his Rover 75 cdt when it wouldn't start when warm. I know it is a completely different car but might be worth thinking about. Hope this helps.

That had gone through my mind but nobody had anything to say about it.. see below: Could cam position sensor cause this ? Seems to have been the coolant temp sens anyway, cheers. MarkR
Seems to have been the coolant temp sens anyway, cheers. Could have sworn I mentioned this earlier Glad it's sorted.... I had something similar on my Corsa... yes I know it's not the same thing but the issue turned out to be the temp sensors. Something to do with the car thinking it was cold in hot weather and vice versa and getting mixed up and screwing up the idling.
carl0s
Could have sworn I mentioned this earlier Glad it's sorted.... Yes you did, and someone else said they had a similar problem that went away when they got a new radiator .. so I was interested to try it, and low and behold that's exactly what it was. Cheers
rg500
Hi there, I am glad to see that you resolved the problem, just interested to see how much the temp sensor was and where to get them from for future reference and are they easy to fit. Many thanks.
