gaz1 Posted April 30, 2005 Share Posted April 30, 2005 hi people,only get to drive the soop weekends, but noticed today she only boosts to 0.7 ,going about 80 mph booted her she went to 0.3, dropped a bit then went up to 0.7, tried a few times but the same, always has boosted to 0.4 then ont 0.9 .not long had her couldn,t be the warm weather could it Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Nic Posted May 1, 2005 Share Posted May 1, 2005 You may have a leak somewhere, I'd check all the hoses are attached and also check there isn't a split somewhere. Try listenening to see if you can hear air escaping, it can very difficult to find a leak especially if it is in one of the IC hoses or a small split somewhere. BTW what boost pressure were you making before, hotter ambient temps will make a slight difference but yours seems a bit too low. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

osso Posted May 1, 2005 Share Posted May 1, 2005 It sounds to me like your EGCV isnt opening up to allow your second turbo to kick in.. disconnect the pipe between the main pressure line and the IACV VSV ... and try blowing down the pipe into the main pressure line, it should be hard to blow down this line, if u can then thats a sign of an air leak... if you cant detect an air leak at this point, then u may have an air leak between the EGCV VSV and the EGCV Actuator.. this pipe is prone to cracking, so disconnect it and have a look... if its ok.. then i suggest u look at the EGCV VSV and check if it is actually switching over.
