wheel nut snapped

just had my front tires replaced last week.started work fitting new brake parts. finished one side all fine.

drivers side the wheel nut were very tight and one snapped. looking for ways to remove it.

all removal tools do not look like they will work.

did go back to tire shop today. they closed at 12. no luck.

 

any ideas please. it has cracked right down the middle so i only have half attached.

It depends on exactly what's left of the nut and how much free space there is around it, so it's impossible to say without a good picture.

 

What you've got left of the nut may turn now.

heres a pic showing the missing area. the bottom part of the nut is all in one piece where the thread is. , only got camera phone, can not get a clear picture. i think i just wait till the tyre shops open monday see if they can remove it. just incase i make it worse.

you've got 2 choices.... either drill it, which ive had to do before which was not too hard but time consuming to not damage the alloy.

 

Or try and wedge something in there that will help you turn the nut. Which is going to prove difficult as the nut is on so tight, mine was free spinning bolt as well so was different issue.

 

By the way if you haven't already get some WD40 on it and keep soaking it to help the guys when they come to have a go, if you choose not too. It may save you having it drilled off.

thanks for help. the tire shop just spent a hour and half too remove

nut. got an apology. so can get on with finishing my brakes...
