TonyP
Been out tonight with some mates. In a round of 4 or 5 bloke all drinking pints. As far as I'm concerned if it's my round I'll buy a round when the first person in the round finishes their pint. What really annoys me is when, it's someone's round, but they don't go to the bar until they've finished their pint. So everyone else is sat with an empty glass! Maybe it's just me, being a bit of a p!sshead, but it does annoy me.
gordy07
Youre right enough that annoys me too
Havard
If I was number 5 then once number 4 has got a round in then I would be asking who's ready as I'm not being accused of being a tight cnut..... We used to have fun as young lads as we had a couple in the group who would always be the last to the bar and they would go home or disappear just before it was their turn... Just pay your fair share FFS..!! There will always be someone who gets the rough end of the stick one week but the next week it should be recognised..... H. Scott
It would annoy me but i always pull them up. I guess it annoys me that i have to lol. I'm always first at the bar. 1 we are standing anyway 2 it means i'm last to go up again. We always kitty up so that it doesn't matter who's round it is
Havard
I had a mate called Trev. He was the type who was always the last to the bar and at a barbecue he would bring four cans of Kestrel and drink 8 cans of Stella..... Eventually I had a right go at him and he didn't turn out so much. Apparently he now lives down south and is minted. He doesn't have many visitors though.... Be a tight cnut if you want but those few £'s will catch up with you in the long run I hope..!! H.

He would rather go to sleep with his money instead!
Jake
It's a common problem, seen it many times with different bunches of people. Thurs night I was out with a bunch of guys from work. I got the first round as I always try to (for eight guys, wasn't cheap), later a few other guys got rounds in, then after about four rounds some people are standing there with empty glasses. So I ask the guy I arrived there with what he wants, and he knows damn well that I already bought the first round - and that he hasn't got one, and he's like "Yeah cheers, same again." So, I'm buying another round already! It gets a bit annoying but I'm not tight enough to worry about it or let spoil my evening. The funny thing is, the "Yeah cheers, same again" guy is a higher pay grade than me and is always bragging about the houses he owns and how he could have any car he wants, even though he drives a diesel Seat. JS2004
I have a few mates who always tend to need to visit the gents just as its their turn to get the round in.. gets kinda annoying.. especially one who spends £300 on a pair of jeans! What ive done is just stopped buying them as many drinks, we now tend to split up into smaller groups within the large group, so ill be in a round with say 3 other friends - who are equally annoyed by those same magicians , instead of all 10 of us. Seems to work well The magicians still end up nicking half the pizza at the end of the night though!!!
Havard
It's better to break into smaller groups as then eveyone doesn't have to get shit faced just to get their money back.... H.
Richie-R
The one I've noticed is going out for a meal in a large group. Some people order the most expensive starter, the most expensive main course and the most expensive afters. Then they want to split the bill evenly with the rest of us who have ordered resonably. These people are there in every area of life.Reckon it does catch up with them though. fizzle
on the flip side, when i go out it always costs me a fortune for a round, even though i don't drink (usually drive). Its around a £1-1.50 a coke and £3ish for a pint, but still feel obliged to get the round in...then i get roped in to dropping someone home (strictly 1 man in the supe thankfully) so with petrol costs i feel like i get fleeced.. im not tight but gets a bit annoying when funds are tight! tony tt
leaving people with an empty glass when its your round is just ignorant besides when lads are out there drinkin about the same pace anyway so it dont see the harm and just gettin them in. if there finished or not it will get drunk eventuialy! The next time your out with him mate just drink slow and make him wait and if he says anything then tell him some home truths.
Aweegin
..lol.. i didn't realise there was so much of a thought process for buyin a round
Lbm
To maximise the non buying method, on arrival to the pub, make sure you hold the door open for your mates to enter in first. The rest should take care of itself. I can probably say this as he's not on here, but my drummer in the band is a tight bugger. (perhaps Animal can verify this is a drummer's trait?) At gigs, after we've finsished playing, we head to the bar. I don't drink btw, but I found that I was putting my hand in my pocket first - He would just stand there and verbally issue his prefered beverage - the rest of us would be thinking "yeah...but who's going to fund this?" Anyway, to be fair to him, he's developed this method over the last 12 years or so. These days though, I just order mine or say "get your money out guys" It's a bit w@nky, but I just don't care anymore.
Havard
..lol.. i didn't realise there was so much of a thought process for buyin a round You wouldn't think that there was much thought process in doing the decent thing but for some people it's not something they think about at all. AND THATS THE ISSUE...!!
JS2004
There is a lot that goes into it! Does anyone notice a pattern with certain friends who do buy rounds, but only in specific pubs, where said beverages are considerably cheaper sneeky buggers hehe

You've literally described my mate in one go, I give my mates free lifts everywhere I never ask for money unless it's to drive them somewhere and is quite out of way like drop them off for a night out but my mate, he is on 30k+ a year and hardly spends any of it, and requests petrol money even to just pick me up 2-4 miles away at times when I go back down to see my mates, and he only drive's like a 1.2 engined car...quite annoying when I do the same without asking for money just as a favour like it should be and am on a lot less money then him, also the same applies to nights out in general. L18msy
When i was a bit younger me and my mates used to go for a drive on a friday night. We would take turns of driving each week while the others would have a few beers. We used to chip in for petrol money and just go in any direction and catch up on whats happened during the week and plan the saturday night assault on the pubs. We sometimes didnt get back in till late but one of the guys used to take the petrol and in about an hours time start giving it 'oh im tired guys i might just head in' stunt. When his tank was well topped up!It used to p*ss the rest of us off. When we used to go out on the saturday night he used to turn up with hardly any money and never seemed to go to the bar but seemed to end up wrecked on our money. Now i dont mind funding a mates night out if he is short but it was becoming a regular thing and the rest of us clicked and we had enough. So one weekend we cable tied him to the bar with heavy duty cable ties and made him fund the evening to everyone elses amusement. We only let him go when he was touching cloth,I was tempted to let him get damp.
