Nic
Cleaning the O2 sensor helps for a short time, but if they've not been replaced for a few years then a replacement is the best option. They're not cheap, but when you consider what a tank of fuel costs they soon pay for themselves in fuel savings. You should also feel the car runs smoother at idle and lower revs.

Nic
how much are they for NA's nic if you can remember?? They use to be around £80-100 each depending on exchange rate at the time. I'm not trading at moment and not checked prices recently though. There are 2 x O2 sensors on the NA and UK TT, 1 x O2 sensor on a J-spec TT

Check the UK Toyota dealer price, that'll really give you shock How much is a tank of fuel in UK these days? As I say not cheap, but they should pay for themselves in fuel savings.
