Fuel economy question

Cleaning the O2 sensor helps for a short time, but if they've not been replaced for a few years then a replacement is the best option.

They're not cheap, but when you consider what a tank of fuel costs they soon pay for themselves in fuel savings. You should also feel the car runs smoother at idle and lower revs.

They use to be around £80-100 each depending on exchange rate at the time. I'm not trading at moment and not checked prices recently though.

There are 2 x O2 sensors on the NA and UK TT, 1 x O2 sensor on a J-spec TT
