jazz1
Just to warn you guys i downloaded both co pilot and tom tom for the iphone, both never worked once. They both come up with poor gps and never seemed to work. So i called Tom tom for them to tell me that they wont work due to the chips etc and i would need to purchase their car kit(con) tom tom is cheaper to buy. How on earth can a big company like this sell and con customers if they know it does not work properly. Anyways i complained to itunes and got both my refund back, their customer service was superb once i mentioned trading standards/court lol:). Just pre warning you guys do not waste your money downloading these apps
michael
Odd, every normal person I know with either of these apps doesn't seem to have any issues at all.

caseys
Co-Pilot and Navigon works fine I've found. Friend also has TomTom and it works without an issue. All run good on 3GS/3G phones. I assume you have a 3G and not using a 2G or as Ric said have poor reception/location services sorted out? I don't think they'd really sell if they didn't work. Yes a few times you get drop-out on reception but that's because it's a phone working as a sat-nav, not a sat-nav working as a sat-nav. The cradle yes will boost the signal, but it's not mandatory. martini
TomTom works brilliantly on my iPhone. I love it. Speed camera warnings for around Manchester are worth the price alone.
