tooley
ive got an 8ft long yamato battleship and a very nice working gato class sub......i would like to get a tank but the cost of any nice large scale ones are just crazy
nevins
do you use the sub much and does it have the balast tanks or does it use the drag method and porpoise along
tooley
ballast tanks with remote surface should you lose signal....i try to get up to bury to use it as the lake is used by a lot of modellers but it cost so much in time and effort to build im feared of using it as its fragile. the boat though is used all the time by my dad so its at his house.....he has a really funky large scale ww2 american landing craft that he srcatch built and that is awesome even has a working remote sherman in also
nevins
now that is cool, so he lands the crft and then takes the tank for a spin lol. Have you seen the diesel powered 1/5th tanks there is a tigerr tank round my area. When he transports it he uses his galaxy and drives it up ramps into the back and the suspension on the galaxy drops like mad. He has made it out of sheet steel needless to say its a monster

nevins
iv seen the comps in the mags, with the cargo ships they are manoeuvred from dock with tugs and the brought back in too, its impressive to watch them do it. The tanks are expensive, i was talking with the bloke and it has full metal tracks and fully working suspension the gearing systems interesting too. He has the skid steering which is all done with transfer boxes and looks real expensive.
nevins
If you like tanks then watch these they are amazing things. This is awesome lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0C9P_YesXo&feature=fvw

nevins
depends on what you make it out of really. If you make it out of ply and balsa quite a bit due to the cost of the wood, but with mine its going to be ply and skinned with fibre glass. The engines on the other hand vary quite alot i have a mate who has an old sop with camel and uses a radial engine aand that cost him £500 alone. If you can find a friendly supplier then you can build on a budget.
