Rob_Mitchell
hey guys just wondering if anyone on here knows where i can get a induction system for my non turbo supra, i know i can get the cone part but do they do stainless induction pipes to replace the black plastic ones?? thanks
hoff
Stick with the stock air box for best results. Though I'm sure Paul Whiffin (Whifbitz) can help with the piping.
Rob_Mitchell
really?? ok thats interesting to know ill probley keep it stock then. thanks adam
hoff
It doesn't look or sound as nice but the cold air is channled straight to the box. Without good ducting anda custom heat shield you will be taking in hotter air which will reduce the engines performance. By how much I'm not really sure TBH. Dave
really?? ok thats interesting to know ill probley keep it stock then. thanks adam ive got an apexi system on mine with a heat sheild and a cold feed pipe direct onto the cone filter ,it sounds a lot better than stock and imo is more responsive.and looks good when you open the bonnet . going to change the plastic pipeing for crome .for the slight difference it makes if any go for a good cone filter [not hks] can take a pic if you want ? tooquicktostop
Induction kit on an NA sounds nice IMO, it gives no power increase in fact it can have a negative effect, if you do it for sound and looks just make sure you fit a good quality filter like a K&N
Rob_Mitchell
would just a good quality panel filter help?? im thinking about keeping it stock now after reading everyones comments so thanks everyone.

Nic
Apexi and Power Enterprise do kits specifically for the NA Supra, they do not replace the complete plastic piping though. Aero-M
Don't do it. I have got the chrome pipe that replaces all the stock plastic stuff, from filter to inlet. I put it on mine and it made a huge difference to performance, Not in a good way. I got a big flat spot where the power normally picks up and it ran terrible. Aero-M
oh i guess thats really good info thanks aero-m... did you just change back to stock then?? That's just my experience, other's will say they have noticed an improvment with an induction kit. I soon changed mine back to stock.
tooquicktostop
how is it bad for the engine ?????????? Poor filtration would/could cause dirt to be drawn into the engine for one
tooquicktostop
mine is the bottom one in nics post why have all the tuned tt engines got crome pipes and cone filters then eh! If you mean to single turbo's, they can't use the stock system, it has to be replaced
Dave
Poor filtration would/could cause dirt to be drawn into the engine for one but that would apply to a stock system as well i put my stock one back on for a few days to see if all "the keep it stock " suggestions would be better i found no difference except there was no induction noise. tooquicktostop
but that would apply to a stock system as well Yep, read some of the posts on here on the HKS Mushroom filter Like I said you will need to ensure you have a good filter (I used K&N) and a good seal on the pipes
dr_jekyll
mine is the bottom one in nics post why have all the tuned tt engines got crome pipes and cone filters then eh! becuase the air passes throug a big fat intercooler to cool it before itr enters the engine . so drawing the hot underbonnet air is not such a problem
RobSheffield
why have all the tuned tt engines got crome pipes and cone filters then eh! Because they like the induction noise too. Doesnt really increase power on either more than a fraction. Stick with stock, that argument has been done to death.
