nevins
only got a few as being the idiot i am, as i was stripping it down and cleaning it up and making a few mods while transferring them off my phone memory to card i bloody deleted a load lol. The ones i wanted aswell to make things worse, it was 4wd but decided to make it more fun and convert it to rwd. The mods i done was involving a dremel and getting rid of un-needed parts to remove some weight lol. As soon as i upload them i will add them on here. Aero-M
You seem very knowledgeable on helicopters mate. Any idea what the best was of canceling vibration is? Already tried loosening blade grips and balancing, but i'm getting some strong vibration still that can't be good for the gyro. And also, any idea on a good lipo alarm from my Raptor. Without seeing it and knowing it's history it would be hard to say. Did you buy the raptor new or second hand as a pod and boom before you fitted the kit? Did you fly it before fitting the kit? My guess would be one of the following, providing the vibration is on the head not the tail: Maybe try Checking your dampers aren't worn, check the main shaft isn't bent feathering spindle isn't bent Is the flybar balanced i.e central in the flybar carrier Have you put the paddles on the right way round (easy mistake to make) Have you checked the blade tracking? As for lipo alarms I couldn't suggest one as I don't use one. I have a timer set in my spektrum transmitter for running my lipo's. If your ever down my way, I would happily take a look at it for you. SupraStar 3000
Cheers matey. The raptor was new and professionally built by a skilled scale helicopter builder then test flown and set-up by Noel at Midlands Helicopters. The dampers are a fairly new but worth a checking over. The head assembly is all new and never crashed or damaged (famous last words). Blade tracking is good although I might tweek it. Haven't checked the flybar length - Will do that now. I'm also using my spektrum handset to time the lipo's, only problem is I always forget to activate it or turn it off between flights. Doh! thanks for the offer to help. Much appreciated. I think we should have a mkivsupra.net flying session one weekend and Lui can show us his jets!

A flying day would be good, I did ask Lui if I could come over to his club to see his jet, which he said was fine. Im so tempted to sell a few things to buy a turbine now after the other day. I just can't imagine how I would feel if I ever put it in. Lots of money gone in a second.
SupraStar 3000
I know matey. LOL Still get nervous when flying nose-in with this model. I'd be terrified if I was flying a turbine.
Trig
Ed can i ask your opinion on this? i havent bought it yet but i read in rcm+e that its an excellent starter model. im still getting the sim but might get this around the same time. Also been reading up a bit and lots of people saying that you need to get someone who flies often to set the trim and set it up properly? http://www.elitemodelsonline.co.uk/Products/Helicopters/Electric-Powered/Electric/4069-/Neon-Blaze-24G-RTF
SupraStar 3000
Hi Adam, Never actually seen one in the flesh before, or in the air so can't really comment on this particular model however is does seem well equipped with full CCPM set up and operating 2.4ghz. My only concern is the tail motor. A separate tail motor, in my experience is not very accurate, tail heavy and liable to fail or go wrong. You need a direct belt or shaft driven tail from the main motor. Here's what I recommend. http://www.buzzflyer.co.uk/RC-Helicopters/Honey-Bee-King-3-2.4G-+-Sim/p-70-1091/ I learnt to fly with one and now own 5 as they are fantastic to fly and set-up. Look on ebay for KingII or King3
Aero-M
Trig, May I also recommend these two helicopters to you, They both come fully set up from the factory so all you need to worry about is charging the battery, I have flown the blade 400 3d and it's rather good, also includes a very good spektrum transmitter: Blade cp pro 2: http://www.e-fliterc.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=EFLH1350 Blade 400 3d: http://www.e-fliterc.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=EFLH1400

SupraStar 3000
heres another own of my helicopters. (pics taken from my other thread to keep all this on one place) This in the new Swiss army A109 with camo livery. Taken me 6 weeks to build and paint from reference photos. The retractable landing gear was a real PITA to make work. Video here (You tube) http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=QVZ9KJFFNFM Pics:

nevins
any pics chap? I don't mind crashing my pod and booms. I see it as an excuse to upgrade Forgot about this thread, sorry for not replying mate, but here are a few pics of what I got up to, will be cutting the chassis down in the next couple of days. As you can see the ally chassis on this model is huge so its going to be trimmed right down. The front diff was a bit worn so that was launched in the bin along with the 4wd shaft. The car is being used as a drift car, so as much weight is being removed as possible. The tags are on the images due to a write up I done on another forum.
SupraStar 3000
nice work matey. What was the donor car you used. Looks a little like a Tamiya Subaru Brat.
nevins
It was a kyosho pure ten I had lying around in the workshop. Original shell was a wrc 206. Just acquired a brand new engines for it as well.
R Black
Just recently got into RC stuff, started with my ESKY Dauphin, now nearly finished building this copterX 450. Love the A109 Suprastar, was that a kit put on top of a trex or the like? And some off what can be done by an expert flier can be seen here
SupraStar 3000
i recently sold my copter-x and now beginning to wish i hadn't. Great 450 size helicopters. Nice collection Rob Yes, that A109 fuselarge was installed over a Belt-CP model with some minior modifications. The hard part was getting the landing gear to retract. I then sanded, smoothed and painted the swiss army livery. Quite pleased with the way it looks The added weight need a more powful motor, gearing and speed controller. Also a powerful BEC. The headspeed is to high which is something i need to sort.
R Black
Do you mean its hard to do scale flying with high headspeed, as it makes flying smooth hard, as opposed to better for 3d flying.
SupraStar 3000
head speed is really governed by blades, weight and engine etc rather than flying style. It is indeed harder to fly with higher head speed but also less effeciant with power to lift ratio. My helicoper just isnt setup correctly.
