Pete Posted November 24, 2010 Share Posted November 24, 2010 I was unimpressed initially, then after 3 hours of playing I quite like it. I will certainly be giving it some hefty time. As a racing sim I still prefer GTR on the PC, it somehow feels more realistic on the track to me. Oh - and it's only £18.99 if you buy it at Currys when you spend £50 on something else....or do like I did and accost someone buying a Garmin and beg for their vouchers. I'm convinced the game is still using the network even when playing offline. It slowed right down this evening but at around 11pm it was much faster and right now its loading screens within a few seconds. The online game was just a no go this evening but have just a a few goes with suprafog with no problems what so ever. Did the Lupo cup challenge on the Nurburgring earlier, bloody awesome!!! Managed to bang in a 9:07 on my first go. This games really starting to come good now some of the tedious challenges are out of the way. I found tapping the controller triggers made it go through (I sat there for 10 minutes once). Just managed to peel myself away from it. Here's a pic of me bullying my way to the front in my first car. Here's me admiring my new purchase in some swanky Japanese town/village setting. No doubt the servers are being hammered seeing that it's been a worldwide release. Don't like the way the whole online thing works though, the 360 is much better for online stuff. Yesterday when we were fighting to get it working, on the 360 we could have been chatting over the headset irrespective of whether we are in the same game or not. You can also easily jump into any persons game from the 360's frontend, without even starting the game, the need to communicate via text, PM or phonecall in order to get people together is a lot more conveluted. Hey ho, I'm sure they'll improve it. One other thing, I've stoved the car into walls pretty badly yet not noticed any decent damage (in premium cars).
