colsoop
I have just had my windscreen replaced a few days ago, by RAC windscreens, they re-used the original rubber from the old windscreen.
carl0s
thanks for the part numbers and info on RAC (I didn't know there were any alternatives to Autoglass!) What I'd really like though, is for someone to look at their windscreen seal and tell me if it looks different - the one on the rear is flush with the bodywork whereas my front one is raised as you can see in the pics. I made a point of telling the Autoglass man to use the genuine Toyota one because I've heard the 'compatible' one is shite. They've already been back to redo the job once but I've really had enough of all these small problems with my car - it's just looking so god damn tatty: - Windscreen rubber hanging out after every drive - Passenger door Dented which Parcelfarce have hardly responded to me about after nearly six months - Bonnet dented and paint chipping off it. Hopefully Liam will have my new bonnet painted soon. I just feel like I'm driving around in a tatty looking car

carl0s
i wouldnt say that was a toyota part, looks universal to me :s ( dude I might be ringing you shortly.. is your phone on? I'm ringing a mate now to see about borrowing his Van on Monday 'cause i've got some side skirts in Evesham and if that's kind of anywhere near where the bonnet is then I'll pick 'em both up and drop the bonnet at yours if you want and bring my scoop with me. All depends if Evesham is anywhere near the bonnet-place (gonna MapPoint it in a sec) and if my mate will let me take his van (i'm sure he won't mind having the Supra for a day Anyway back to the subject, please if anyone else wouldn't mind taking a close look or even a photo of their seal to compare just for certain, I'd very much appreciate it. veilsideTT
my screen did this after i had a new one fitted. Took it back to them and they pulled it up enough to get some more sealant in and had no problems since.
damouk
when i had my screen replaced the bloke was trying to fob me off with a universal one, he said they usually fit them to any car, i told him i wanted an toyota one and he was not happy, i asked him why i should be happy with a non toyota part when i asked especially for a genuine screen, so he put the original one back in and swore a lot
carl0s
A few quick snaps.... that seems to be different to mine mate. Mine has a raised-lip type drain whereas yours seems to have like a central thing. Hope you understand what I mean, and thanks for the pictures.
