Bad Times- What car Next?

Hey People!

So i haven't been on the boards for a very long time now, due to band taking over my life. Regrettably i had to sell my beautiful Supra, but i wasn't driving her at all and you can't put a drumkit in a supra! doh!:innocent:

Anyway moving on.. i will eventually get another one probably next year or so (this time it'll be a Manual tho!:p) . In the mean time, can you chaps offer up any advice to what car i should get next. i need something fairly big to fit a drum kit in but i would also be looking for something a bit Pokey as well. I was thinking (and don't hate me) Subaru Impreza STi Wagon but sure.

lets put a budget on this.. a car under 8 grand?

Any Advice

Cheers

Pete

Get a stripped out NA and a smaller drum kit, loads of room!

You would say that! but im currently rocking a 22" kick drum case ... and then i have this huge case that carries all my hardware!..(amongst other stuff)

Although i may just get a stripped out supra N/a just to race you!!:p

I know i will probably get abused for this but what about an vauxhall astra gsi turbo ? hatchback. used to be a drummer and fitted all my kit and a cab inside , also has plenty of poke at just under 200 bhp.

worth a look , i think there very nice looking cars , but its no supra :)

My drummer has a 1997 Astra, and his kit is rather large. I have a '97 Astra 1.7Tdi (for my bass gear etc, see my garage etc) I paid £700 just over 2 years ago for it.

It does all the gigs brilliantly. By chance we both have the maroony colour, so it's a bit sad when the rhythm section turn up together in these purple astras - still, it's a great car.

I'm a mobile DJ and am going to have to find a way to get all my kit in a Supra too.

Not quite sure how i'm gonna do it yet. been using other cars until i get the suspension fixed.

If you want to keep your Supe, you could add one of them small trailers.

Firestorm - here are some other suggestions:

This is much more under your budget & will leave you a lot of pennies for your kit!

More sensible, though the engine is pretty nippy!

I got Jane a Stagea (Skyline estate) a while ago, and it's vast inside, more room than my V90 Volvo estate. It's totally stock, but still goes well, has been 100% reliable and was cheap to buy. They can be tuned from mild to wild if you want. Hers is an auto as we both prefer them. Don't pay too much for one, some are advertised at daft money.

Volvo V70-R (you won't stop grinning and can be easily remapped to 310/350= bhp whih makes them simply absurd)

SAAB 9-5 Hot Aero (impressive but rolly poly chassis)

BMW 330i/540i Toruing (nice to drive with respectable performance)

Audi A4 2.5TDI (great car and impressive especially after a remap)

Audi S4 Avant (bit slow unless its remapped)
