Guest Garfy
Well, I've managed to get out there today and make some really good progress, I'm now very pleased to say that the car is rust free and the welding is more or less finished. first on todays list was to finish the repairs to the inner arch starting with this area then i welded in a plate, along with a strip to re-create the lip where it was missing, this was probably one of the hardest parts of the whole project then some rust protection next the arch got welded on, first up is a picture of it half way through, I took that while the welder cooled down (it tripped of due to over heating ) and here it is fully welded, with some paint on for protection as it was just starting to rain. I'm so pleased with the inner arch, as you know I've totally rebuilt this lower area, and I'm really pleased with the way it is all lining up just a little excess metal to trim off the lip and I think it will look superb Won't be long now before I can get it booked in for its MOT
monsween
looking pretty good, need to get myself a welder and start learning!
Guest Garfy
Time for this weekends update Welds ground back Due to the rubbish weather I had to build myself a fort Various stages of endless filler and rubbing back Primed Looks much better on Mux's old wheels so, I'm very nearly there, all that is left is to put the interior back together and I can get it MOT'd, then I'll get it booked in to get the spraying done, and the job will be finished

Guest Garfy
WAHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! Its ready for the MOT Welds Panel sealed Inner Arches Fully Undersealed Interior all put back together and cleaned, also wired up the stereo and autochanger behind the passenger seat Some external photos, can't wait to get the paintwork done I've got to say I'm feeling fantastic at the moment, this project has taken me 3 months of working every weekend the weather has allowed, and its really coming good, not to mention keeping another great car on the road
Guest Garfy
its been a while since I've updated this thread, thats mostly because the weather has hampered any progress, but I've managed to find a garage big enough to spray the 2 rear wings in, I've almost finished the Passenger side, so I thought I'd put some pictures up A bit more cutting back and this side will be finished, and I should get the Drivers side done next week, and project shmoo will be finished
AJI
Looks like a top job you're doing there! My Dad has just recently bought an early 1.6 MX5. Where do you go to get hold of one of those rear holding racks that fit on the boot? And what are the basic tuning mods to get a smidging more power out of it?
