Guest Garfy
Yep, I've purchased another one, it came up at a price I couldn't refuse, so I decided to buy it and restore it, it needs the rear arch's and back of the sills replacing, a bit of welding on one of the chassis rails and a waterpump. Its a 1.8s with a new roof, I'll be repairing all that is wrong with it, then it will be up forsale, while it is being repaired and before it sells I will be using it to go back and forth to work because it will cost a lot less in fuel than the supra Door cards are forsale if someone wants to do an exchange (plus money my way) for some standard ones. you will be able to follow its restoration here, so you can see that its not been bodged I won't be rushing the work and will be doing it to a standard that I would do to Project MUX, and once done it will be up forsale Enjoy
Guest Garfy
Well I've started, first up was to see how bad the rust was on the drivers side, so I could work out if I needed a full repair panel, or if I could get away with using the section I had left over from the lower rear wing/sill repair on MUX, and the news was good, the lower half has already been repaired at some point, and is very solid the same can't be said for the arch though not a problem though, i simply cut off the arch section from the left over MUX panel, and welded it into place thats all for today folks

Guest Garfy
Well another weekend and more progress has been made today following on from the repair to the rear arch I needed to repair this hole in the inner arch then this hole in the front of the chassis rail I also managed to get some replacement seats due to the drivers one looking like this but now I have some nice roadster seats, picture of drivers one in situ and the blending of the rear arch is coming on nicely I'm pleased to say that the divers side is now Rust free so I investigated the passenger side arch to see if i need to buy the repair panel, erm, that would be a yes lol

Guest Garfy
Well, time for a bit of an update on my little project, 1st up, new waterpump old and new water pump side by side hole where a water pump once was new water pump fitted all back together so, waterpump done and the rain was still coming down, so end of play for Saturday I wake up today (sunday) to clear skies and no rain, yay, time to tackle the passenger side arch and sill if you remember this is how it looked when I checked to see if I would need the repair panel first of all I cut the repair panel back to how much i want to use, test fitted it and scribed round it then I start cutting the rust monkeys out, I'm cutting about 10mm away from the line because I intend to use my joggling tool when I fit the new arch oh dear, things aren't looking good, is very rot, the rust monkeys have been very busy well, there is only one thing for it, and that is to start cutting it out and replacing with new metal, so, out with the angle grinder, and cutty cutty first I made a plate for the inside part of the sill, and welded it into place, cleaned it up and undersealed it on the inside next a plate for the rear of the inner sill
Guest Garfy
and then to rebuild the inner arch thats as far as I have got this weekend, hopefully the weather will be good next weekend so i can crack on with it
ozz
I have to admire your skills, I wouldn't dream of cutting a car apart! As you were cutting the panels out anyway I'd have been very tempted to put more flare on the panels and alter the lines of the car, I think that would make a very nice looking motor. I've got some, it was on axle stands as well as the jack, you just can't see them in the photos, it was on the back of the rear subframe, thanks for your concern though

Guest Garfy
Only a short update today, Last weekend was a complete wash out in terms of weather, and so is today (sunday), but I managed to get out there for a few hours yesterday (saturday), and managed to complete the structural repairs, all that is left now is to repair the rest of the inner arch and then fit the outer arch.
