mathew
woke up this morning feeling a bit worse for wear and had a huge craving for bacon but didnt have any. so off to morrisons i went. pulled up in the car park and thought why not do a full shop seeing as im here now so grabbed myself a trolley and off i went into the store. bumped into a mate and got talking about last nights drunken antics and just a general chat. that finished so off i went and carried on with my shopping. by the time i left the store a good hour had past. heading towards my car i see an old woman, a suspicous loking old woman, standing rearly close to the car. now i started to mutter the odd swear word to myself thinking she had dinged my car or parked right next to it but what she told me next really surprised me. while i was in the store she had pulled up in the car park and noticed a couple of youths on bikes taking a slight interest in my car. she then went on to say that i had left both my windows open (which i had forgotten to close, i blame the hangover) and she spotted one of the youths leaning into the car. now this youth may had been looking to steal something from inside the car or just having a look but the old woman approached them and told them it was her son's car and that id be out any minute. at this point she had informed me that the youths cycled off but she chose to stay by the car incase they came back! this act of kindness really knocked me for six and i was almost speechless. after a bit of chit chat we had come to the concluion that she had stood there for nearly 45minutes! i really didnt know what to say to her as she had no idea how long i would have been but chose to stay there until i came out. i couldnt think of a way to thank her enough but she kept saying it wasnt a problem and she was just happy that she could help out. i did end up giving her my troleey with the pound coin in it just to give her something back. that one act of kindness has had me smiling all day long.
