RedM
Time for another Saturday night longshot. Can you lovely metalheads point me at websites (NOT Amazon or the other main players) or actual record shops that deal with the sort of music you'd find in Terrorizer magazine or might be classed as metalcore? I'd prefer it if they were UK based.

SUPRALOOPY
What bands do you like? I have a mate who is very deep into his metal. I could copy some of his stuff for you but its very hardcore. Chuck some names at me and I'll pass them on. BTW he has over 400 cds all metal. Its just a noise to me but he likes it..lol
James
Metalcore - boo! You want harder stuff than that! Name some bands you already like and I'll recommend others! Will also have a think of where to get ahold of stuff from I don't listen to anything but metal :o
RedM
In this instance it's a band called Endeavor. The existed in the late 90s and hailed from New Jersey. The records I'm looking for are: Crazier Than A Shithouse Rat Constructive Semantics Don't Die With Your Eyes Closed I've found them on a few US sites but the shipping is ridiculous. RedM
Metalcore - boo! TBH I'd call it plain ol' hardcore but every review I've read calls them metalcore. Do you like Burnt By The Sun?

caseys
Doesn't someone on here run their own mail order record business? Trying to remember who... EDIT : With a bit of detective work I think it's Hogmaw going by this thread http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=172165
James
TBH I'd call it plain ol' hardcore but every review I've read calls them metalcore. Do you like Burnt By The Sun? Yes! They're awesome! Have you heard anything off "Heart Of Darkness" yet? It's good If you haven't before - check out the band "First Blood". Look for the track "Conspiracy". "Next Time I See You, You're Dead" is good too for a quick punky blast! Also, check out "Stampin Ground". "Officer Down" being the first track to hear. I'll try see where does those Endeavour tracks. There will be Blood is a good track, and one called Dracula with Glasses. I will investigate further! I'm always on the look out for new stuff so if you have anything else like this (or anything that rocks) let me know.
James
Just give me genres and such and I'll do my best! I've been listening to alot of death metal again of late, not to everyones taste, but it fairly gets you driving hard As does most hardcore

Burnt By The Sun are awesome. I got the ltd CD/DVD on pre-order. Absolute rockage. Off to see them in Sheffield soon. Mike Olender from BBTS was the vocalist in Endeavor. He's an absolute musical hero of mine. I actually have all the Endeavor tracks but I want the actual records now for the liner notes. I am, you might say, a bit of a completist. What's been on your playlist? I've been on a bit of a Dismember binge at the minute. Throwing some Anaal Nathrakh in there for good measure, but that can very quickly become too much for the brain to handle! Have you heard Brujeria? Been listening to the cliche of Cannibal Corpse and Dying Fetus alot recently as they're playing Glasgow together on Halloween Can't go wrong with some Nile, Deicide, Morbid Angel, Gorguts, Decapitated, Autopsy, Hypocrisy, Entombed, Obituary, Carcass, Hate Eternal, Suffocation, At The Gates, Malevolent Creation, Cryptopsy, Zyklon, Cephalic Carnage, Necrophagist, Bloodbath and Death. That's my usual

That's my usual Cannibal Corpse have some of the best song titles ever! Not many bands could get away with what they use on their 'Tomb of the Mutilated' album! Makes me laugh every time! (In a 'I can't believe they said that way, not a weird way! ) I've recently discovered Death, I find them a bit hit and miss, I enjoyed their Leprosy album. Dying Fetus - awesome. You should check out a band called Suicide Silence. Saw them at Download. They're really good.
James
Leprosy is a good record! That was the first Death CD I bought! Dying Fetus are fun. I enjoy trying to work out what they're playing as it is a fun style to somewhat replicate for my own stuff Yeah, Corpse have some pretty comical titles! I don't think I could laugh about them to George (Corpsegrinder - vocals) or he'd probably eat me
Viv
Best site for CD's is Goregiastic Records See here: http://www.goregiasticrecords.com/ Also if you like hardcore then there is nothing wrong with alot of UK harcore. I love the US stuff from the 90's like Irate, Fury of five, Merauder which is timeless but bands like First Blood etc are all starting to sound the same. Generic break down after break down. Check out Knuckledust, 50 Caliber, Special move, Six Ft Ditch, Prowler etc... Stampin' Ground and most US hardcore bands are weak in comparison. In terms of death metal or anything else (gore-grind etc..) well there's LOADS to choose from. HateEvent has started a good list but you should also check out Insidious Decrepancy, Devourment, Pus Vomit, Gutteral Secrete, Cephalotripsy, Putrid Pile, Gorgasm, Cephallic Carnage, Soils of fate, Torso F*ck...the list goes on and on... New Dying Fetus is poor. I gave up on them after "Stop at nothing". Bring back Kevin Talley!
Animal
Soz for the late reply. Not managed to find anything by Endeavor, but there are a couple of interesting websites to look at. http://www.vtmusic.co.uk/shop/style/hardcore+punk.aspx http://www.plastichead.com/index.asp?cat=cd http://eil.com/shop/genre/genre_type.asp Also, you could give these guys a ring, they always have a good selection of decent metal in the shop and have got hold of some good cd's for me, they might be able to locate stuff for you and if they won't post it, I can pick it up as I live above the shop Townsend Records 01257 264
