leonardjon
Opened my engine bay to find a nice spray of coolant on the hoses and surrounding area. Seems like it has either dripped onto the belt or fan and been sprayed around - much like in this thread! http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=183144&highlight=coolant I have undone and re-fitted the top rad hose and there were no signs of leakage at all there. Also took it to Toyota and one of the guys had a quick look around with a torch and mirror and suggested it may be the water pump that's leaking When the engine is running i have looked from all angles (except under the car) and cannot see any leaks but there is clearly a very occasional splatter going on. Any ideas? Seems like problems are like buses, coming in twos =/
nero
Is the radiator factory? if so they tend to seperate and you may need a new radiator. I usually prefer to go with aftermarket one's like Fluidyne, Koyo, etc. which are 1 piece welded together and the end tanks can not seperate. leonardjon
Its an aftermarket alu rad as far as I know, no signs of leaks from the rad itself, though it is kinda hard to tell!
n boost
Probably a slit near one of the jubliee clips and only leaking under pressure etc.
Havard
I had a small hole in one of the coolant pipes and sprayed out only on full load. Get someone to rev the engine and use a torch to see the spray if you can..!! H.
stevie_b
Maybe get a garage to do a pressure test on the cooling system. Make sure they know what they're doing though, you don't want them to pop the heater matrix. Edit: I would suggest using Havard's method first, and get it pressure tested if that doesn't work.
