dan4
Your piston rings, bores, valve seats and valve stems will be wearing like there's no tomorrow with that HKS none filter. I was too idle to change these on my 20,000 miler R33 GTR, years ago, the turbos, plus all the above, were knackered by 35,000 miles with absolute text book symptoms of gritty air ingress. I did an engine rebuild, fitted a stock air box and stock filter, and not only did it run better than when I first bought it, it was still going strong with 130K + miles on it. I would hate to see such a mod make its presence felt in the same way for anyone else. I was warned, knew in my heart of heart's it was a disastrous intake set up, but I kept putting it off until it was too late. There was a lot of slating of HKS filters but i too previously had one on an ST205 GT4 for years under very heavy use and it was fine at well over 100k miles. I also had the trust one on the supra for 2 years which was looked pretty much identical...? There's no doubt to your knowledge chris but im not overly worried about it Anyway you have reminded me i needed to pm you regarding a trackday matter.... Kirk
i like the Z, it looks good and sounds well but i dunno it just doesnt deliver IMO.. maybe im being biased but in comparison to the supra the steering feel is a little numb, the suspension is back breakingly hard, the interior feels cheep, and it doesnt feel all that powerful... i dunno maybe its just me
ozz
a 10k Z will be a bit tatty, i looked at a fair few and was forced to raise budget 500hp is useless on the road imho, maybe if you were in something like a F430 or similar its ok. I could only ever use a couple of gears before stamping on the brakes I just sold my zed in the same colour, 2005 JDM model with only 17k on the clock for 10500. Immaculate inside and out and the manual. I did however sell it to family, my bro who loves the car. The BMW I bought was 11k (54plate 330sport) so wasn't too concerned about the price - the missus wasn't happy tho! I've had many RWD cars and the zed was in a different league for handling, superb and not once in the 1.5 years I had it did it let me down even in the wet. Powerwise, not bad, much better than NA supras but I would say nowhere near the TT.
dan4
How do you rate the 330? I swapped with the old man the other day and i didnt like it at all. Id say that price was ok for an import. UK GTspec tend to go for more M life i think its really positive on steering, sharper than the supra. The interior is quite nice you just have to take on board that new cars are a lot more plasticy. The suspension is great, much more rewarding than 15yr old sagging suspension . Even without that extra grunt im not dissatisfied
RobD
When i worked for Nissan , they had just bought these out and some local millionaires came in and bought one for there son, full nismo kit and wheels , looked stunning! From what I can remember the nismo wheels are 3k a set with tyres and the kit was around the same aswell! The new 370z looks better on the front imo though. We have a black 350z at mine place that we traded in at the moment , its up for £18999 from what i can remember, hasnt been into the workshop yet though so havent seen what its like yet

UK GTspec tend to go for more Loving the 330, not as fast as the Zed but much more refined. I'd had enough of the hard ride in the zed for the commute I do and wanted something smoother with more toys but still had power. 6.5 seconds versus 5.8 for the zed is noticeable though. The interior quality is shocking in the zed which is a shame but as a toy it was superb. I'm tempted by the 370z when the prices come down, depends on the ride really. The next one will probably be the newer shape 330d, 6.1 seconds 0-60 from a diesel!
dan4
I really dont think the interior is that bad:protest: Anyhow i love it and i suppose thats what matters, my toyota days have ended after 4years of them they were good memories but after the ST205 and the Supra there really was nothing worth having imho, the Gen7 celica didnt float my boat at all Finally, i get to see it. You are sooo going to have to take me for drive in it Dan best you give me a call;)
