Konrad
Looks a bit fake but its a great idea. Could be but there is one flow in "fake" theory. It's on offcial BMW site http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/service/augmented_reality_workshop_1.html

Can only imagine what the cost of this equipment is going to be given the probable development costs.
dangerous brain
Cheaper than paying an actual mechanic or doing any training. Didn't show the poor f*cker trying to grolley off seized in parts though

Companies will prolly save on proper education for mechanics and base all knowledge on piece of plastic connected to computer...
Scott
I was thinking of the cost of having one in the house Obviously it will be the way forward for the companies.
DanBEXsupra
all straightforward and simple on a new car with little seized parts and worn parts. que the mechanic who cant improvise when he needs to if these come into production. que the car mechanics who are more like battery chickens! stevie_b
Didn't show the poor f*cker trying to grolley off seized in parts though Just what I thought! Robowoman: "Undo screw." Mechanic: "I'm trying to! What the f**k do you think I've been trying to do for the last 3 hours???" Robowoman: "Sorry, I couldn't understand your command. Undo screw." * glasses get thrown across the workshop * I think it's a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. All that information is in a good, illustrated workshop manual. If it could deviate from a linear path, it might have something going for it. For example, if I want to change the cambelt *and* water pump, I don't want the system to tell me to change the cambelt, put it all back together, then take off some of those bits again to get to the water pump. As a case in point, when I was changing the head gasket on an engine a while ago, it wasn't easy to find out *exactly* what I needed to do from the Haynes manual. I practically had to read entire sections of the manual.
