Its behind the one that you can clearly see, i think.

 

Does look like one turbo, but think its two.

 

I dont see how, the exhaust housing is there and then you would have a resonable sized downpipe behind that, I dont see any room for another unit that size unless its tucked out of view some where :search:

shoot 8F was chosen to preven wheel spin 2 years ago.

we solved the wheel spin issues and since then I run all time in 8F.

 

BTW turbo is there under the hood.

Just to give a clue, a single 66 mm turbo wont make 941 at the wheels alone.

And the 941 is at the wheels not flywheel.

 

I'm starting to smell bullshit. To be honest i did previously but i thought i would give the benefit of the doubt. Do you not know where the 2nd turbo is well enough to explain in relation to the first?

Can you not just post more pics clearly showing the 2nd turbo, the intercooler pipework for both turbos, both air filters, and dual wastegates with the downpipe connections :search:

 

want to keep that part confidential.

 

I do the fabrication and pipe work by myself.

 

Is the 2nd turbo feeding the 1st? (compound charged)

Nope. Both chargers flow at the same time, parallel twins.

 

Compound has been on my agenda for my E36 M3. However, I gave up compound charging as it would require a lot of testing. I never did it. Diesel truck owners do it successfully.

 

One big advantage of compound charging is that it is spooling faster than parallel charging.

I have solved the spool issue by spraying nitrous oxide where the engine needed, from 4000 to 6500 rpm and turn it off at 6500 rpm. Just to aid spool.

 

Are the feeds off the FMIC endtanks so you can check the pressure drop across it?

Yes, for measuring pressure drop.

For feeding wastegate ports.

As this is a amateur, hobby project, pressure drop/back pressure drop/temperature drop should be datalogged.

You could have saved yourself a lot of development work and just bought a Supra :)

1- I love Supra very much.

2- If I would buy a Supra, that woud be an alredy proven project. I could add little from myself.

With the M3s I spend time and energy and it makes me happy.

Its not just to own and drive a fast car, to design the system and tune the electronics.

3- Faith: I believe in faith. I bought my 1st M3 11 years ago and it is also turbocharged. It all started with the E36 M3. I could have bought a Supra and worked on it.

 

 

Why are the 'M' series inline 6 engines at such a funny angle?

Slanted angle enables a big oil sump to be used.

 

 

If it was straight vertical like the 2jz, then you'd have much more room to play with on the exhaust side.

Yes we did a vertical engine project, where M3 engine was vertical to the ground, was able to put a Gt4788 easily.

gave up, as I dont like the idea of dry sump.

Thats the same car after nitrous oxide kit is custom installed.

 

A nice looking car that is for sure...but still can't work out the 2nd turbo location.

2nd is low down.
