Thorin
Ok I'm now ready to install my turbo timer (It's a Razo one and I don't have any instructions with it), I didn't fancy hacking around with ignition wires and after seeing a picture of a HKS harness it looked like the same connector so I took the plunge and bought one. It fit's, woohoo! but... http://www.darkstar.karoo.net/images/harness.jpg Ok so the black wire I presume is the ground, and grey and white wires with little connector on the end I'm assuming is to do with the handbrake sensor thingy (do I need to have that connected? I'm lazy). The problem is at the other end... http://www.darkstar.karoo.net/images/yellow.jpg What on earth is that small yellow wire for? That small brown wire is just a loop of wire that goes back into the back of the turbo timer no idea why but I'm assuming thats supposed to be like that. tDR
Going on my limited experience of installing stereo head units, that to me looks like a battery backup power connector - required I presume to make the turbo timer remember it's settings when the ignition is switched off, much the same as a head unit needs this power feed (seperate from main power feed) to remember ure pre set radio stations etc. If I'm correct (not sure) then I'd suggest splicing into the same wire on your head unit connecting loom. Thorin
Looking at one of the pages from the Greddy turbo timer manual on mkiv.com it has two wires (like the grey and white ones on mine) for the handbrake function, and shows a little grey wire (like my yellow one) going into a box type thing with a note saying "not used in the US"
Thorin
The HKS manual also mentions a speed sensor wire and RPM sensor wire?
