Guigsy
people seem to forget that he is a magician and psychologist. not some kind of psychic with extraordinary powers.
RedM
Pretty clever and about as live as it gets. We watched him on one TV and the Lottery on another. Minimal delay. My guess is that his balls can display any number via some techy gizmo.

RedM
They were. Analog TV signals seem to arrive sooner than digital if that makes sense. What are you thinking? I'm going for split screen trickery. He stood stock still, maybe too still, while the draw was on. I'm thinking that he was writing on the balls before jumping back into place while the bonus ball came out.
michael
They were. Analog TV signals seem to arrive sooner than digital if that makes sense. What are you thinking? I'm sure it's something simple enough on the basis that Paul Daniels can do the same trick but I was thinking analogue in the ear of the man projecting images onto the balls as they rotated in time with the digital message or something else beyond my thinking at this time of the morning. http://www.guardian.co.uk/culture/2009/sep/09/derren-brown-lottery-paul-daniels Numbers tonight were: 12. 19. 22. 26. 36. 41. Bonus: 39 I can't remember what he showed on the prog, were they the same? He predicted these numbers on the site that the adverts hinted at apparently (I didn't pay enough attention to them, they annoyed me). 6, 10, 22, 25 & 47 http://www.itwillbeyou.info
RedM
Numbers tonight were: 12. 19. 22. 26. 36. 41. Bonus: 39 I FAIL! They were last Saturdays number IIRC. CHeck the lottery results page. http://www.national-lottery.co.uk/player/p/results/lotto.ftl and then compare the fottage from last night of DB: from bout 5:40 on the clip. He got it spot on! hoff
I think it had something to do with the balls. If they were on display at the begining that would have been better I think. But saying that he did say it's something we can all do. Watched his show on E4 too, that was good.
AndrewOW
The delay between analogue and digital is so great sometimes, I could make a cup of tea in between the two! I'm sure that's how he did it. Analogue tv in one room and a digital tv in another and the delay is hugely noticeable. Fraud.
michael
FAIL! They were last Saturdays number IIRC. CHeck the lottery results page. http://www.national-lottery.co.uk/player/p/results/lotto.ftl Calm yourself dear, it was late and a visit to the National Lottery site took place, I obviously didn't check the dates properly. Now I'm awake I see them. 02 11 23 28 35 39 Bonus:
SupraGirlie
I watched this, I am a fan of Derren Brown, and will be very interested to see how he did it on Friday! Did the BBC have anything to say about it? I suppose they knew how it was done otherwise they wouldn't of let it be shown?
Lbm
When "predictions" are caried out, I'm sure you've all noticed how they will allow the official answer to be revealed first...and then their version. Very unusal for this to be the other way round. On the other hand, the man got lucky.
b_have
I'm going for split screen trickery.. Correct! (although I think he had an accomplice write the numbers on the balls while the left side was frozen)

RedM
Well the numpty didn't buy a ticket - prize results He was banned from buying a ticket not that it would have mattered as he didn't know the numbers until they were drawn anyway. hoff
Was there not a 2nd camera in the seats? That will come into play on friday I'm sure as it was not used live. Maybe that will be key?
michael
Split screen with a computerised camera wobble on both sides to make it look like a single image seems to be the theory of choice as far as I can see.
Al Massey
He said there was no delay and computer trickery. He is an illusionist and plays tricks on the mind. It will be something simple tho
RedM
I hope the real trick is that he was the Lottery drawmaster on BBC1 while on C4 as well! Either that or these events are, while cool in themselves, actually all part of a build up to something truly amazing for the last event. Did anyone notice he said "two thousand" twice during the event? Also, in the trailer for last night he's juggling what look like lottery ballls. Anyone betting that further inspection shows them to be the balls that were drawn last night?
L33
i was watching his programs before and after and was gobsmacked so many times! i think the lottery thing might have some thing to do with the fact he said there was only him and 2 camera guys in that room yet there was only one camera angle on him the whole time, yet he said its some thing we can all do? confused.com! what ever it is, he is very talented at what he does and have no idea how he does his tricks!
