A-pillar pods: are they supra-specific?

I've tried to fit the A-pillar pod from my ex-calibra, but it doesn't look like it fits very well.

Are there pillar pods specifically for the Supra, or they all generic and you cross your fingers that it will fit nicely?

cheers,

John

I have a greddy one, Not impressed with the fit, I had to trim it a fair ammount to get it to fit.

I got a GReddy one off Nic (barg price too :) ) but I haven't tried to fit it yet. How did you attach it to the original A-pillar trim? Those nasty screws of some sticky stuff....?

Here's two I found. Like John said the more expensive one needs priming, where as the other one comes ready to be fitted to your car. Also the delivery on both is only £5.00. Not sure whether anyone has bought one!

You're best off getting these sorts of bits from a reputable supplier, soooo much of the stuff on ebay is garbage. Even if its fits properly the colour or finish is unlikely to match with the Supra interior.

I have just received the 7971359974 (cheaper Model) today, delivered in 2 days, bank transfer and the chap selling them could not have been more helpful.

:eyebrows: I will now let you know if it fits !! :eyebrows:

The shape of these pillar pods is different to the Greddy one, these include the strip that goes around the drivers window. The section that houses the gauge is angular compared to the Greddy version. Not sure if these are intended to replace the stock trim, or fit over the top of the trim.

The Greddy one fits over the top of the stock trim and ends at the top of the a-pillar (does not include strip around window.) It also comes with holes ready to fit gauge.

The one I bought was from Jocktheshockerr item no. 7950517370 and did not have to paint it either just used son of a gun black sort of polish from Halfords.I personally think it is good product fitted just fine except if you do order specify that you need 2 inches more on the door end side. On the first week of Miami opening their workshop at Basingstoke I had the opportunity to see a few supras with pillar pods and this product is just as good as any.To me price is irrelevant it is the delivery on time that is important and this item was delivered exact on time.

To me price is relevant mate, same as delivery.

I'm not prepared to pay a premium just because of the F&F hype, or the 'Rip-off-Britain' factor. I'm an old-fashioned tight git I'm afraid, none of this 'cool britania/metro man' bollox

I tested it today for general fit and I would call it 9/10. The gap at the lower end that slots in to the dash is not a wide so you do have a gap, not really noticable though. The shape of the mould is perfect and the thin section over the door is a good match. The plastic dark colour match is very good also.

Shame that they do not have the fixing blocks built in, a little fabrication now required before finished.
