Hi all got me self a full set of grooved discs and bigger calipers from my local scrapper. They came off a black n/a which is a cat c. Hoping to fit these at the weekend. Was wondering as I've never done this before if there was a certain way or special tools were needed. Any usefull comments are welcome.

It's not a complicated job but it can be a bit of a pain the first time because you may find everything hard to get off, for one reason or another.

Make sure you keep and re-use all the shims springs and pins in the right way, if you seperate the callipers don't loose the small O rings.

When doing the rears make sure you fully loosen the hand brake at the disc befor trying to take the discs off.

Good luck.

Bob.

If you are fitting UK spec brakes to your J spec car the lip on the stone guards located. behind the discs need to be trimmed, at least.

The front guards, if you want to, can be removed completely with no fuss, just unbolt them from the stub axle and then cut them at their narrowest point. But the rear guards carry the parking brake cable and removing them is a little more complex so trimming is the easiest answer.
