What's the stuff they glue CD's onto magazines with called?

What's the stuff they glue CD's onto magazines with called, and where can you get it? Is it applied with a heat gun? It's clear and doesn't seem to bleed into the paper, plus it will "roll" off without damaging the paper. I have some collectors item posters I want to fix up on the workshop wall without pinning them, or leaving a greasy stain on the paper. Thanks.

Had a bit of a google on this and it seems to be an often unanswered question!

The best response I could find was:

We only use two types of glue, Glue dots as mentioned before and Hot Melt glue.

Glue dots are the peelable glue dots for manual operations.

Hot Melt Glue is machine operated and is a stronger but slower process in our experience.

We use a company called Viking Industrial as our suplier their number is 01535 610373.

Do you know, this the exact same stuff I'm after to 'temporarily' stick the Supra.net tax disc holder to the windscreen, as the original sticky pads are useless now. I was thinking this gum stuff would be a clean, clear solution to the problem of the damn thing falling off the screen every few miles!

If it's easy to get hold of, I will certainly get some!

I know this is Chris' thread, but I'm sure I tried those, and they don't work on windscreens. I think a line of gum would work better, ie. a complete circle to 'seal' the disc to the screen.

How heavy is the item you're hoping to stick, Chris?

Not very heavy at all, but don't want them coming free and blowing and tearing. They aren't anything very special, just very rare to find any these days:
