Should of explained, i meant ive deleted all links and icons for IE so that the only way to access the internet is via Firefox, and all the history wasnt passed over to Firefox so now there is no undeleted history. SupraD06
Just to be clear, there isnt realy any need for me to be able to delete this history, its just that ive always deleted history after ive used any computer, i think people are assuming there is something on here that i need deleting in a hurry. Other than my GF who only uses it for Facebook and one or two other sites, im the only person who uses this laptop, if i was in such a panic i would burn the damn thing lol. All i wanted to know was why was some history staying and other history being delted as normal? Other than that now im using Firefox nothing drops down from the address bar when im typing so theres no problem. Also there is no link on START, RUN etc . Aweegin
I just install THIS and run every so often from the recycle bin. (be sure to un-check the sponsored yahoo toolbar when you install it..) Used to use it a lot when i was a pc gamer to keep things clean n speedy and the habit stuck FF used to have a nice add on called 'Distrust' but i see with the latest FF update, it no longer works.. which is nice
Tom
I think I know what the problem is Scott on here helped with it; on IE go to tools, internet options, content tab then select settings on the auto complete section untick if it's ticked that should be it, basically no matter what you seem to delete it'll remember what you've typed in previously annoyingly and I'll admit I got quite a fright when some of my searches from other forums and stuff were appearing when I typed out new threads or when a drop down box appeared when searching in yahoo/google
SupraD06
Cheers Tom, as ive said though ive deleted all links to IE, even if i search from the START Menu its now gone, so unless anyone who uses this computer finds away onto IE they will be using FF which is fine. EDIT: Tom, the box was ticked and it was holding onto some of the searches like you said, so ive unticked that and deleted everything now, thanks
