SupraD06
Hiya guys, last week i went out and purchased a new laptop and ive been using it all week and it seemed like it had no problems, but ive just tried to delete my Internet History and it came up with the screen asking what you want to delete, so i ticked all the boxes and pressed delete, and it seemed to start deleting things. But ive just tried typing in the top bar and some of the websites are still there, so i deleted everything again and went back to the top, and as i typed http://www.m the MKIV website came up and this happens with everything ive been on. How can i delete it all please.

michael
That must have been some pretty extreme porn you were viewing if you are this keen to hide the evidence Not sure how computer savvy you are but this is quite a useful app for this kind of thing, goes beyond what windows will allow regular users to do with ease: http://support.it-mate.co.uk/downloads/idsuite_basic.exe Suspect that's overkill for your needs though, sounds like you just need to use the browser settings to delete search / visited site history. What browser are you using?

supspower
Use firefox or something else than Internet explorer in the future much easier.
SupraD06
do i just download firefox?
stevie_b
Yes, it's a free download. Should install and work with no problems. It's more configurable than IE I believe, which includes choosing what kind of history you want to delete.
SupraD06
Job done, thanks guys. Have now got Firefox running and it works fine.
michael
I'm sure it does, now read about deleting the history from it before you go back to those sites again. (BTW: IE will still remember the ones you visited earlier, you aren't off the hook yet)

What browser are you using? I am surprised you went into so much detail, when the easiest way to delete your internet history is to kill it with fire, surely? EDIT: Incidentally, you will need to put the fire out before it completely destroys your laptop though. HTH

Mcgoo
Just for your interest, If you use Google Chrome (which is a free download also) as your internet browser it allows you open " incognito windows" which leave no history on your computer. So I've been told.

stevie_b
The only problem im having is that using firefox when i go onto redtube now, the videos wont load, it says i need to either turn on Java ( done that ) or download the latest version and ive just done that aswell, anyone here use Firefox and have this problem? It should work if Java's been installed OK. I've had one or two problems installing Java in the past. I think I just repeated the install process (following the links etc) until it worked (2nd or 3rd attempt). You can test the Java is working by going here: http://www.javatester.org/version.html

You can also do this with the new version of Firefox by using 'Private Browsing Mode' (also known as p0rn mode hehe) You can go to 'Tools -> Start Private Browsing' or press CTRL+Shift+P to start it.
