DaveK
i said to a extent and tried to explain Yep - and in my opinion, "to an extent" doesn't make it OK, and admitting it doesn't make it OK either. I could go out tonight and kill 20 people simply because they're asian. Compared to Hitler, that would make me a racist to an infinitesimal amount - but that would hardly make it OK would it? L33
i have black friends, and i dont go out with the wrong attitude and not help towards any one who i may meet? like if i see a asian i will still be poilte, speak to them how i would like to be spoken to and even if they drop some thing infront of me help pick it up, thats just the kind of guy i am, im not going to judge some one i dont know, just saying the people i have met who are asian have given me a bad impression which does makes me dislike but i wouldnt let that effect say a new asian person i was to meet tomo or after unless they treat me with thte same bad attitude ive been exposed to before missing bits
benkei
There were a lot of good point and quotes I wanted to pick up on, but I can't be bothered to fish through this entire thread to find them, so I'll just go with the latest ones! End of the day we are all humans, breathing the same air sharing the same planet, stereotypes are installed through education, personal experiences and upbringings. Wheres the love:cool: Excellent point. We are all born equal. We are all human beings. Why does what we belive or the colour of our skin matter? And it's getting to the point where if you disagree with someone who just happens to be a different 'race', then you're racist. (But aren't we ALL the same race? - Human race?!) It's rediculous. This is getting blown WAY out of proportion! It doesn't matter what your religion is. It's just a way of looking at how to live a good honest life with good values. But there will ALWAYS be extremists who tar the reputation of said religions, the mdeia pick it up, and before you know it all muslims are evil and are trying to blow us all up! It's mass media hype, government lies to drive our attention away from what they are doing in the shadows! It is funny all the contoversy the bnp create, like the protests at the tv studio, they are elected and do deserve air time, NOT THAT I SUPPORT THEIR STANCE what i dont get though, is there are far more pressing issues, that will have a greater affect on us than the BNP, could for a long long time. Things like common purpose, agenda 21, codex allimentarius and the geneva treaty on cc. But no one kicks up a fuss over these, it's almost as if they dont exist, it's a shame so many people (nationwide) put their efforts into getting up and making the effort to show their dislike for the bnp, and dont even raise an eyebrow over more serious nation and life changing issuses, i mentioned above, then again, maybe it is because they have never heard of them, who knows. I'm so glad someone mentioned Common Purpose. No one kicks up a fuss over it because hardly anyone knows about it! And why would they? They get no media coverage, because the government controls the media so doesn't want poeople to catch wind of what they're doing. We're too busy complaining about how racist the BNP are. I'm sure this is the least of our worries when Common Puropose are planning a one world Government with a world population of only 500,000. The cogs are already in motion. Just do a little research...
marbleapple
missing bits L33 there are people on this forum who get very defensive when the words race/Islam/Asian are mentioned. They then get on their soap boxes, attack and if you pit up a sensible post they just play the racist card and imply or suggest you are racist. Sad thing is that their soap box ranting prevents real open discussion without the fear of being branded and as such the topics just become areas of simmering resentment. Odd thing is that on other topics the members are nice blokes. My advice.. Don't bother trying to post to them... Just think it
imi
The solution is to be an immigrant in someone elses county. I think Islamabad would be a good place. Who wants to come with me, we could move into our own little city isolate ourselves only speak English drive taxi's and run corner shops and then claim people are being racist when they are in uproar when we knock a few churches up. churches you say - more like night clubs, brothels and piss up houses not sure you guys will be able to handle the traffic in islamabad - only one way to find out. Let me know when your flight is booked, ill happily come over to see you off.... remember to keep us posted - tweet regularly......

There was no reason to imply or suggest anything of the sort. It was clearly stated in black and white : a lot of people have quoted bits ive said but its all my opinions and im not ashamed to say i am racist to a extent. i dont hate blacks/asian what ever colour nor would i harm any of them. i actually dont have a problem with black what so ever its just the asian i guess. now before i get slated im just being honest. That is racist, pure and simple. You can dress it up anyway you like - you can say you will be civil to asians when you meet them (as he did) - but that doesn't mean you are not racist. tbourner
The definition of racism: 1. a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others. 2. a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination. 3. hatred or intolerance of another race or other races. So it's not really that bad (1 at least ), you're just admitting that we're different, why get so uptight about racists.

jevansio
450 yards in my case......always knew it was a shit area...... Imi, you realise how much of a hypocrit that statement makes you. Can you imagine the response if the tables were flipped, and someone had posted a "find the nearest Asian" link and there was a similar response from someone. I can appreciate a balanced argument from both sides, but that statement (IMHO) puts you in the same camp as these "racists" you so despise

I originate from England thanks. Personally, I don't understand how admitting you're racist to an extent, and have an issue with Asians suddenly makes that attitude OK. He called himself a racist - and yes, I think he is - although I actually think it's due to lack of cultural awareness rather than any malicious intent. And frankly, I couldn't care less if I've annoyed you.

tbourner
I actually think it's due to lack of cultural awareness rather than any malicious intent. If there's no malicious intent then what's the problem? It's just admitting that you're different and have different views, and that makes him uncomfortable. I have to say I feel uncomfortable around mentally disabled people, because I don't understand enough to know what reactions I can expect and how to act etc. So I distance myself from them whenever possible. I'm not horrible to them, I don't hate them, I don't feel sorry for them or ignore their disability particularly, I just feel uncomfortable. People think that makes me an arse and that I'm really discriminatory - maybe by the definition I am discriminating but I don't go around picketing with banners saying "Autism out" and "Down with Downs" so what's the problem? IMO some of the people (like on this thread) who are considered racist for their views, are much better people than those who rant and rave and protest about people like NG being allowed to speak on a TV programme.
