his thing about the muslims was spot on. If they come to our country they should live by our rules! like has been mentioned before about the muslim who got 10k compensation for being asked to remove his turbin in police riot training! insanity! you want to live here you live by our rules

First of all the Turban is worn by Sikhs and the case you mention was enforced by a Sikh not a Muslim as Muslims don't wear Turbans.

Yes Muslims should live according to our country's rules but if you remember, the whole furore about the implementation of Sharia law in this country was actually caused by the Archibishop.

Also, if you observe basic Islamic teachings, Muslims are urged to follow the rules of the country they inhabit as is evidenced by the Prophet Muhammad's journey to Acre and his instructions to his followers.

There are 1.5 billion muslims in the world, don't judge all of them by the handful black sheep that get most of the media coverage (not that I'm assuming you are).

Islam isn't against freedom of speech- whoever made that point is completely wrong.

The woman is on an equal standing to a man in Islam- the only equality that exists is actually in favour of the WOMAN when she becomes a mother because the Prophet Muhammad stated: "respect your mother, then your mother, then your mother and then your father".

Islam isn't a vicious faith. I challenge anyone where to cite a single verse of the Qur'an that goes against humanity.

Like someone quite correctly mentioned on here, a lot of mess is created when culture blurs with faith and people wrongly assume they are one and the same.

Sorry to post on here after a mere 13 posts. I'm a lurker and hoping to get a Supra soon :)

Peace

Septic: good post. I'm sure the media (especially newspapers) feed us with a lot of tripe about Muslims and other religions. I'm relatively ignorant as to what Islam really stands for, and my recent knowledge (like many, many people) is clouded by the slant that journalists put on stories in order to shift more copies of their "news"rags.

Once again, people (I'm referring to the population in general, not individuals on here) get up on their high horse, helped there by a leg-up from journos who are happy to stir up anger through mis-information.

why didnt they challenge the homophobic opinions of the muslim chick on the panel?

I think she answered that by saying she'd welcome a civil union for those who wished to have them. But yes, she remained somewhat unchallenged.

Griffin certainly looked very sheepish at times and made for slightly uncomfortable viewing as he attempted to laugh along with some of the jokes aimed at him.

While the BNP got their air time, and while they may have notched up a few extra fans, let's face it, he wasn't exactly awesome or persuasive in a massive way IMHO :)

I know... I was sat there thinking.. why am I getting so angry about this bloke.. ? he's retarded.. he'll never get in :)

I suspect the bottom feeders will continue to vote for him, but thankfully the rest of the country knows what he stands for. As the guy on there said, the BNP's hate politics aren't new.. and 'this view' (fascism) will be around for a long time.. oh well

thing is he would start off with some really good points and every one here was like i agree then he says some thing stupid and its like well there goes that argument!

his thing about the muslims was spot on. If they come to our country they should live by our rules! like has been mentioned before about the muslim who got 10k compensation for being asked to remove his turbin in police riot training! insanity! you want to live here you live by our rules

there should of been more BNP supporters there so it was a more fair argument. even the people sat round him were against him so the bloke didnt have much chance!

he comes from a extremest background/group the national front. now they changed there name to the BNP to try and get some sort of support by softening there views but i think some times he forgot that and does stupid things to let him down. like all the things they said they seen on you tube and then talking about the KKK.

just think if some one with a bit more thought was leading they might get some where! like i said good points but he didnt help himself!

He has no good points, he's an absolute tool.

Which out of these points do you think are good, and these are all quotes from NicK Griffin Himself:

Hitler went a bit too far

I met up with a leader of a KKK clan, a mostly non-violent sect

Islam is a faith with blood on it's hands.

That one I love, "Islam has blood on it's hands"

THE CRUSADES? - A moment in history when the christian armies headed out from England and crosses the globe trying to convert people and killing them if they did not believe.

It was the Muslims in Jerusalem who defended all the Christian artifacts while The Christians were too busy destroying everything.

If it weren't for them we may not have the bible as we know it today.

They should have asked him his political plans when he gets in office, what he's going to do about health care, schools, tax and the usual government stuff because I guarantee he would not have a clue what to say. All he's bothered about he to Re-Patriate Britain......but then what, sit on his a** for the next 4 years?

Like he'd have been allowed to answer.

I think religion is a hot topic in this debate... which shows how far in the past most of the people invovled are living.

Agreed.

And religion is a massively hot topic in this debate.

I saw the girl with the boobs, she was quite fit, I couldn't say anything though cos the missus was sitting next to me.

As for the show, I thought it was the usual emotionally backed attacks resulting from a disagreement with a relatively extreme viewpoint, giving the defendant no chance to explain himself. That's not to say I agree with any of it myself but I wouldn't dare ask a question to someone and then go "Booo, RUBBISH... groan... etc" as soon as they started talking - and the bloke that said "Dick Griffin... I mean Nick Griffin...." Oh yes how mature are you!

As for NG, what a plonker, he didn't do himself any favours in answering the questions, maybe he knew it was a losing battle to start with and just didn't want to bother pointing out that YouTube videos can hardly be used as proof of anything!

David Dimbleby is a tw4t as well, surely they should get a better host than that on such a show.

I still don't get the BNP, I kind of thought at one point they were all for British citizens, ie: if you open your passport and it says 'Nationality: British' (black, white, Muslim, Martian, whatever) then cool, if not then you're an immigrant and should follow whatever immigration rules they set out. But then they come up saying you have to have lived here for 17,000 years to be called British - well that's ALL of us out then. I think I might just 'change my mind' on that one.

The first 2.

Hitler did go a bit too far, you think he didn't go far enough?

He did meet with a leader of one of the few non-violent KKK sects (apparently), so what? You'd rather he met with the vicious killer sects?

Well that was brilliant entertainment!

Bonnie Greer now as a new fan, I thought she was brilliant. Not bad for sixty hey! Hope I'm as youthful looking as her when i get to that grand old age.

Griffin got a beasting, as to be expected. But I will say something, he handled it very well considering. His gag about the KKK hood was brilliant! Still came across as a nut though, but he seemed to be able to play it off so well; I suppose he's become a pro at it now.

The fruit cakes voting for him won't change their minds because of it, those who would never vote BNP obvious still won't vote for them, but I think the show did one thing in Nick's favour, and that's gain a few more votes from the people who have no idea.

Oh and the last thing I'd say is as soon as that idiot from the audience piped up with 'Dick Griffin', David B should have moved on straight away and not let him have his say.

The Jewish lad's teeth scared me.
