michael
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/article6823364.ece BBC in shock "we're impartial really" move or cunning plan to get people to watch Question Time so they can edit the show to reflect the views they want us to see? THE BBC has provoked controversy by giving the British National party a platform for the first time on Question Time, its top current affairs programme. Nick Griffin, the BNP leader who was elected to the European parliament in June, is expected to be on the show in October. The corporation has decided that the far-right party deserves more airtime because it has demonstrated “electoral support at a national level”. RedM
When I want to see something that looks like a particularly bad waxwork model of Sylvester Stallone melting then I'll go to a run-down seaside resort. Until then I'll make do with NicKKK Griffin on QT.
TTRickeh
I miss Question Time. When is it back on? Should make for an interesting episode, although it will probably just be filled with people in the audience shouting at Nick Griffin which is never useful for a civilised debate. I wonder if Dimbleby will ask the audience at the start not to shout out of turn.
Gaz6002
I wonder how much credibility this will give the BNP? Unusual of the BBC to go down this route with 'serious' programming.
marbleapple
I wonder how much credibility this will give the BNP? Not much when griffin starts speaking. I think he will sink his own ship. I hope he does anyway.

jacko
They'll probably draft in Shami Chakrabarti she seems to have a season ticket on the panel anyway I hate her with a passion...... To be honest i'll be watching this and im pleased that they are being given a chance to appear on Question Time. Don't think i'm a BNP supporter, im not, but im fed up with freedom of speech and civil liberties being constantly eroded, under the banner of "political correctness"

lexsum
free speech is great - how else would we know who the nazis are? (it is probabaly eroded under the issue of stopping the spreading of hate rather than PC to be fair)
jacko
Actually i think it's the opposite, stopping people expressing their views does not stop the spread of hate, it often makes people's views even more entrenched
tbourner
I think freedom of speech is more important. Surely hating racists is just as discriminatory as the racists hating other races? They have a different viewpoint to you (or the majority) so they get beaten down and disallowed from public forum for it - it seems everything about political correctness is just two-faced ironic hypocrisy. Let the BNP speak, let them win or lose people for it, but let the people decide.

michael
I know I shouldn't look but it's like picture of car crashes, I can't help myself.... http://bnp.org.uk/2009/09/genocide-how-islamic-colonisation-destroys-your-heritage/ I had to laugh at this one, I've been saying for years that rather than build expensive new mosques why not simply reuse and convert empty churches, better to have them remain a place of worship or get them turned into flats? Having said this I'd love to live in a converted church (the whole thing, I'm not sharing with God) so I hope this doesn't happen to all of them. "Enterence" cracked me up though, I bet they did that on purpose to make the BNP rant some more, I would have.
AndrewOW
Maybe instead of living in a converted church, you could make use of a converted mosque after the revolution! I'm sure there would be a lot more room, and potentially bomb proof

I'm sure there would be a lot more room, and potentially bomb proof I'm not racist or anything but I just prefer the look of old churches, I'm sure old mosques are quite nice too but I've only ever seen new ones over here and they tend to be quite large. There is a nice Hindu Temple that I have my eye on but I doubt I'll be able to get planning permission for the bits and pieces I want to add. AndrewOW
I know what you mean about a converted church. Well made examples of British historical architecture. Maybe not a Hindu Temple, but I'm sure you could add that granny annexe and double garage on to a Buddhist temple. I'm sure they won't mind. They're like that, grasshopper.
