BlackWatch66
Just done a search regarding the above (the warning lights on the right of the dash, oil, abs etc) I am aware that I dont have abs, but why do none of the other 3 lights illuminate on pre ignition check? is this to do with dry solder or something? I have checked the plug and all the bulbs and all seems to be in order, also no error codes either... Any help greatly appreciated Fergus
Steve
Usually the solder joints go dry and stop them working. All you need to to is resolder them.
BlackWatch66
Great thanks for your quick reply, now all i need to know is which joints it is that need soldering
Steve
Take the top dash panel off. Then unscrew the right hand display from the back of the panel. You then remove the circuit board from the housing (iirc) to get to the soldered joints. Its worth just soldering all of the joints in that unit. There isnt many of them. BlackWatch66
ok allready had the circuit board off, it looks like the joints on the other side of the white plastic plug... they seem to have tiny hairline cracks around the bases:D unfortunately I have never done any soldering before, and its bound to be messy, would it matter if some of the pins were to be connected accidentally by my amateurish soldering, only because they look really close together !! Steve
Thats the problem then. Just re-solder them all
