Guest metalgear2k2
Hi guys, just wondered where everyone gets their insurance, what are the best companies to go with in Ireland etc. I'm currently saving up to get myself a supra and made some calls to see how much I would be looking at for insurance on a supra. Quinn and 123.ie wouldnt quote, the guy at quinn said that it was over 300bhp and they wouldnt touch anything like that! My broker is also tryin to get some quotes also but seems to be struggling. I'm currently driving a SS111 celica, im 28, on a full licence for 6 years, 6 years NCB, my insurance is currently with AXA and will try them soon. Just wondering if anyone had any tips on getting insurance?
pedrosixfour
The guy at quinn is talking a lot of bollox. Is he trying to say that they have no top end mercs or bmw's on their books? Are they the poor man's insurer? Are they fuck! He just doesn't like the word Supra. I was led understand it that an insurance company has to, by law, quote you for your car. Guest metalgear2k2
axa will look after you 700 fully comp couple yrs older then you (Hi Nigal, meet you at the Supra skyline weekend not so long ago) Well, just came off the phone from AXA and was a no go also! The girl said they just wont quote me on that car, that I would have to be over 30 before they would even concider it. She said that I would be concidered new custom as I'm with AXA through my broker, but she did say that maybe my broker might be able to get something off them for me? Any other ideas? The Restorer
I was with Excess Direct when I was living in Ireland. I think Pat Britton were the broker that acted on my behalf.
supramkivcork
Most insurers in the south will not touch supras over the phone Tadhg, however plenty will once you buy it and say you're ringing to change over insurance details to the supra. *Shane* thats on here and bought the r24 gtr v-spec recently went through it twice with Quinn with the supra and the skyline. After speaking with a supervisor both times he got insurance (and reasonable at that) !

heather1mee
Hibernian cover me TPFT for 1555 euro, in order to do this... I insured my 1.3 corolla for 2 years and insured my bigger engined cars (2.2 and 3liter) in my parents names for 300 euro and drove the cars under my drive any other car policy, my policy on the corolla was 765 then 665euro, i did an extra driveing test called the ignition test to reduce my insurence, I have 2 penelty points and just rang the company saying I HAVE the car (thats the key any company that wont quote you are breaking the law if you have the car they must give you a price) , can you tell me how much yous are to insure it, 1555 TPFT and wont cover me fully comp, but I dont mind that for now, I am only 21 with 3/4 years NCB and 2 points,so im happy out. :)

Garyafc
I was insured with Quinn, rang them an told them to change it over to the Supra from my old 306, and they told me that they normally dont do it, i had to say i had already bought the car, they charged me 2800 for the year, thats being 25 with 2 years NCB and this year it was 2100, it costs me a lot but man is it worth it!! Gary, ya thats exactly it once you say you HAVE the car already they MUST insure you, if you wish, most just give a sky high premium so you wont:tongue: but they have to give a price..
