michael
Just Grr with some more Grr to be honest. http://www.channel4.com/programmes/benefit-busters I felt sorry for the chap last week, the one who got the job, was thrilled and then got the boot but the ginger chap this week really annoyed me. tooquicktostop
I watched some of it last night, very hard to not think he was just a lazy git with a bad back, no real intention of working regardless of what the job support centre found him To be honest our benefit system is so good/bad that any motivation to go and work for minimum wage over staying in bed is lost on most of these sad individuals It did very little for my blood pressure that's for sure ! michael
busy at work today Michael? I'm really busy but it's mind-numbing documentation I'm doing and I keep having to take a break from it so my brain doesn't turn to a stinking mush. Charlotte
Dental hygiene was the real shocker for me in last nights episode. That combined with talking like a robot had that depressed/abused/alcoholic woman on a long road to unemployed for her life time. I like the idea of benefit weevils though. That could make for a good programme.

Guest Budz86
Same as me Peter, I've only been there a couple of months but you can tell some people have no intention of ever getting a job. Plus there are some people that are just clearly un-employable, usually because they are so screwed in the head no-one would ever give them a job! pbryant_knight
Thats VERY true. My bugbear at the moment is how people who CANNOT speak a word of english can claim Jobseekers allowance? you cannot get a simple job if you can't even understand safety instructions. and to make it worse, the taxpayer PAYS for an interpreter to attend the jobcentre interviews. Paul
Having been out of work for a couple of weeks now i get p*ssed off that cash is spent on wasters to try and force them into work when people like myself who've worked all their lives are left to fend for themselves and deal with all the gay useless t*ssers that work in employment agencies Half the jobs don't exist, they don't get back to you and they're a bunch of idle b*stards. Rant over

Peter Yep, very true. I've brought it up but everyone looks at me like I'm being stupid! Paul - I agree. I used to work for an agency and it was crap. I can see it from both sides, but just hate the way they go about things! The targets that are set by managment are unrealistic and cause's all the problems IMO. Thing is, no-one wants to pay agencies for staff at the moment because there are so many un-employed they don't have to! Far cheaper to cut out the middle man and save money

Therefore I have no choice but to deal with them
Guest Budz86
I blame that on bone idle HR depts. Yep. It's not actually that hard to place a job advert and organise interviews! Good luck with it all though mate. The key to dealing with agencies is to be persistant. Then you stay on their minds and when a job comes in, you will be the person they think of

Then you stay on their minds and when a job comes in, you will be the person they think of Cheers mate, difficult being polite to some of them, so laid back Changed my method slightly now, phone them first and e-mail my CV direct to that person rather than through a general job website, less likely to be ignored and also gives me a name to hassle
Guest Budz86
That's it mate, your getting the hang of it! You can also gauge how useful they are likely to be when talking on the phone, so you can manage your expectations of them.
Tannhauser
Best of luck with your search for work, Paul, keep your chin up. With regard to benefit busters, as Michael said, what a shame for the bloke who got laid off, after he was so delighted to have found that job.
