hodge
Well guys today was just not ment to happen I don't think. All was ready this morning, Ryan called me bright and early. He had allocated me an hour of time as he had builders going round the house to help extend the garage. issue number 1 - kept loosing Internet connection. Which took about 15 mins to sort. Issue number 2 - my laptop packed up. Luckly Ben had his so we hooked that up which took another 10mins. Issue number 3 - on 1st crank, nothing apart from smoke from the intake side. Inverstigating led to the oil level wire had melted. This was my own stupid fault really. When I earthed the engine to the chassis, I didn't rub down the paint to bare metal so the earth was poor and it melted the wiring at the plug. Rubbing this down and sorting it and cranked again. Issue 4 - blew a fuse to the starter, which had to be changed. By the time all this was sorted my allocated hour had came and gone and Ryans builders had arrived. With Ben on the case with the base map we did eventually get it fired and ran for about ten mins. Ryan called back between lifting garage doors and steel beams to lend a hand again. After the car was turned off we had a nightmare keeping it running. The Syvecs was showing a can sensor error which eventually cleared itself. Even after that we couldn't get a smooth idle. Whilst we did have the car running I did get a chance to look for leaks etc and had none at all which I'm pleased about. But apart from that it was a pretty shithouse of a day really. I really need to speak to Ryan in depth about it all when he has some free time. HUGE, HUGE, HUGE thanks to Ben (UGP) for all his help over the last couple of days. If have Been totally clueless without his help. Thanks mate. So all in all GUTTED. Shit day and shit results.

Scott
Gutted for you mate, I must admit I was wondering why there hadn't been an update. I was thinking that it wasn't going all to plan hence maybe taking all day to play with it. At least she fires mate, onwards and upwards. johnny g
Mate, let's put this into perspective. - Self build - Very innovative - Multiple rehousing of stock items - Massive injectors - Complicated ECU You got it running! It's not 100%, but I'll tell you something, that's a hell of an achievment for you in my book. Small amount of work will have that running MINT. SilentAgro
With all that you have changed on it. You did well just to get it started. Its a very complicated piece of kit you have made. It will get fixed though good sir. *kicks the tyre* that might help
DodgyRog
I know it's not what you were hoping for, but not many huge builds like yours even fire on the first day of attempting It might not feel like it at the moment, but this is a great day and a massive step closer to being the ultimate Supe Edited February 19, 2011 by DodgyRog (see edit history)
hodge
Honestly guys Ben was a total legend, I'd have been stuck without him. I seriously owe you 1 mate. Once I have a chat with Ryan, I'm sure everything will get sorted. Was pissed right off by the time I came out the garage tonight. Had a hot shower n going to spend the night with the missus. hodge
Here you go. It sounds like shit but atleast it's running. That funnel I bought from the US was awesome for bleeding the engine off was the best 25 quid I've spent. Heaters got hot instantly. http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa74/hodge_012/25d0985b.mp4

Guest ugp
Glad it fired up mate, all that hard work of yours paid off. Sorry I couldnt get the bugger to idle properly, think you may need a new set of plugs after they'd been cleaned a dozen times. Main thing is it fired up and ran well (for a while), sounded really smooth too Any chance of getting the other video up? Ben
Stevo
Its a very, very, very good starte mate. Hat's off to everyone involved especially Ben by the sound of it - I'm sure you can repay him with his V8 conversion somehow....
