A few pics and a bit of a write up from the weekend at York raceway's bank holiday meeting.

Just 2 supra's there on a very busy Sunday and only mine today :( weather good all day but rain came down at night, although this didn't put the live band off who were very good

Not to bad thought, 3rd place for mine on Saturday and 4th to Jay

1st & 2nd ran very low 11's :(

4th today for me behind low 10's from some very pro looking evo's and a very tidy GT4

A lot of big block Yank motors there

The Dax cobra with a v12 was very tidy and rumbled nicely down the track.

A pair of GTR's on Saturday, didn't see what times they ran :(

The new RS Focus was a bit disappointing :(

Anyway now the pictures :D

Looks good Gaz, what sort of time were you running? Is the track at york any better than pod?

I ran a 12.3 Sunday and mid to high 12's and Monday one 12.1 along with mid 12's

The car been a bit of a pig all weekend, firstly fuel gauge showing full tank when i thought it was only a quarter full, one off the rear wheel studs needs replacing after changing wheels so many time

Misfiring in 3rd & 4th for no reason and not every run

A boost leak that after removing and re-fitting all the pipework disappeared, the happened again when a pipe blew off mid run.

Fuel gauge started working correctly all of a sudden and i'd got far more juice in the tank than i thought :(

After lading everything including the kitchen sink i forgot my head light scoop :( but we had plenty of booze, food and tools :D

The track is totally different to Pod, not very sticky other than at start line were you can choose to launch from a normal concrete surface or a Shell prepped surface.

With the 888's normal concrete side suits better with the MT's Shell side seems better.

When i first went there and walked the strip on the night time before race day i couldn't believe it.

Just a strip of tarmac between 2 fields :)

Proper back to basics drag racing

They say if you can master good times there you will then be able to go Pod and it will be easier to run quicker times as it's far more sticky

They even keep running when it starts drizzling, the let the 4 wheels drive and front wheel drive car keep running to clear the water droplets that sit on the rubber that’s been laid over the years :D

It gets a bit hairy bashing down a wet track i'll tell you :eyebrows:

Their answer to me when i said "isn't it a bit to wet to run" was "don't you go out in the rain" :D

That grey ford, second last picture in the first post, what the heck are those called again? I love those cars - the only other car besides the Supra that can do a giant spoiler well ;)

Do you mean the Ford Sierra Cosworth? They are awesome machines!

Nice Pics! Well done for coming 4th & a lot of them machines seemed like they were built for the drag! I thought a lot of the big block american muscles would have been rooting towards the 10sec mark!

Did the R35 GTR's do any good?
